Dual Boxing

Can i suggest you allow people to have 2 accounts, because i cant zone/log my characters of the 1 account at the sametime with 1 or both of my machines crashing. I play with friends on a network, and you can zone seperate account with no issues.
Its not a big hassle, but everytme you get trained or simalar, you have to zone them both, and therefore i get crashes. I've spoke to other players and they say ther've had the same probs.
Also What about porting?

From what I know you can have 100 accounts, you are only allowed to play 2 chars at the same time tho.

To have my shm bot on the other account.... to solve the crashing prob.

There's no such issue unless you're zoning both of them at once.

If you read his original post, that is exactly what he is talking about.

I DC(Dual Client)..
Back before the change to the login server, I made 2 accts on the EQEMU forums under a single user name..
I put one toon on each.. I can zone both at the same time.
You may want to visit the EQEMU forums again, thats where the acct/login info is maintained.

Its quite annoying... i can think of a few situations where i'd like my characters zoning at the same time, just travelling between Newport and bb is annyoing enough.

Leave the character to be moved and the account to move it to here and I'll get around to it.

I don't mean to be hostile, I just don't like to work. :(

thanks mate, i dont mean to be a pain.

The new second account is jwstacey, the account my shaman (calan) is on is addt4.

Is it necessary to have EQ installed twice if you want to two-box on the same machine? I've been running two accounts off separate installs... it's working fine, just wondred if it was necessary.

...and am I reading correctly above? You can have two characters logged in from the same account at once?

You only need one install of EQ. You can run two characters from the same account at the same time, but they CANNOT zone at the same time. If you try to, one client will crash, or at least boot you back to the server select screen. Quite easy to get around, just zone one ahead and then the instant he gets through zone the next.

Thanks for the tip... tried it with just one install and worked fine (first time I tried it last night it booted me)
