Drink Durations

Is there anything in the client preventing standard drinks (flask of water, etc) from having the same foodpoint value as regular food? I used to think the discrepancy was a result of the metabolism AA but apparently that aa works for both food and drinks. It's never made sense why you need to buy drinks like 50% more frequently than food.

Clearly it represents the realism about how you need more water to survive than food. That, or the devs are masochists :O

I noticed this on Rations vs flasks of water when leveling one time, like I need to carry an extra stack of water for every 2 stacks of food to make it stay somewhat even. At the time I was in the Oasis area and I know on Live the deserts of Ro/Oasis would make you drink faster so I thought it might have been that but I did notice it was consistent while leveling.

Made the switch to spiced meat sandwiches and never looked back. My OCD can't handle buying rations and water anymore.

Make a halfling or ogre and they will eat food faster but not water, so it all evens out! hooray!

But for real, even though two items may say "standard meal" or whatever they actually last different lengths. And not all snacks last the same length either. At some point i had figured out the most food vs cost but I gave up on that because summoned food and water last the same

Or, just do away the archaic need for food and drink, and make life easier for all.

Make food and drink an out of combat way of regaining mana (unpopular WoW reference, uh oh!)
Would make recovery from raid wipes and exp groups where the healers or casters died a bit faster. Aside from pet classes casting and rebuffing their minion, equiping it with summoned stuff, etc... mana is what takes the most time to recover post wipe. Drink something, and give it a Paragon (Beastlord AA) type recovery rate for a bit. Again, only out of combat.

Food&drink are one of the things I liked from wow.

If you look at some real old threads, having food and drink is basically a requirement in this client. I'd love to see the system change in 2.5 though without a doubt.

Song of Sustenance was introduced with Luclin, which was several expansions prior to our client, right? Is there any way that the effect of this song could be hijacked for the purpose of eliminating the need for food/drink?

I will always use my OP Yeti Meat and Chocolate shake. As a bonus, they have identical durations and last forever so i just refill my stack once a week and I'm good.
