A wizard can outdamage a mage if he drops his mana bar. A mage and wizard, both oom, and the mage is still doing better DPS with a pet that wont die to a single riposte (or two).
Wiz has already stated that slow has a cap here on WR. it's like 50 or 60%. No other classes need it. You've also overlooked that Necros have slow too for undead mobs.
I am not looking to having stacking slows! Slow is such a powerful spell. For an amount of mana, you can lower the DPS output of a mob by up to 50%. Thats like ONE spell that stuns a mob for 25% of the fight. Geez, where is that stun?
on high end mobs you need DPS. If two classes can fill the role of enchanter even halfway and still give their full DPS, then YES any group with their right mind would take the DPS and abilites. alot of mobs are immune to mez with root being the only form of CC.
An enchanter brings so much more to a group than just mez. Even under my changes and excluding a shaman, it would take a rogue, beast, druid, and bard to somewhat fill the role of one enchanter. A rogue mezzing is a rogue not bacstabbing. A beast slowing is a beast aggro'd. A bard mezzing is a bard out of the fight almost entirely.
See the statement above about mez being useless at times, slow being just barely above if that a Bst. And it's not unless an enchanter has 61 plsu that they actually have a decent DD.
Mez being useless in the case of constructs or high level raid mobs, all of which can summon and are quite often immune to root as well.
The rest of your post concerns the "Vision" and the ideas of what classes should be able to do and not do. And yet, in the post I have above, it seems clear that some core group role distributing already exists on WR to make up for the lack of persistent class diversity.
See my above post for strict numbers and some revelations.
