A lot of complaints, suggestions, etc. have been coming up relating to thurg gear lately, so I thought I'd see if we could get a general discussion going on what its actual role is, and whether the individual pieces are meeting that role.
My impression based on the pieces I have (paladin pieces, which are among the better ones): Thurg pieces are kind of a class staple that fill a significant role for the class from the time you reach the upper levels, when you can first do the quest (40s to 50s, generally speaking), up until you start getting raid gear.
That sort of seems to be where at least the pally pieces fall, and where it seems reasonable to me to place thurg gear: in between the droppables and easily attainable single group type stuff and the actual raid equipment. To me it seems that most if not all of the pieces should be balanced so as to be an upgrade to the fairly high end equipment (the equivalent of deepmetal/imp hide/diamondine etc.), but probably upgraded in the first couple of tiers of raids, or by the absolutely top of the line droppables (mantle of the forest and whatnot).
Is this in line with the role the staff had in mind for the thurg quests? Is it reflected in the pieces for most classes?
