Disarm Traps

Currently this skill is fairly useless outside some very rare situations and in my attempts to steal ideas from other games and take credit for it here I thought why not add something to spice this up that isn't an entire zone of annoying / tedious traps and that idea is:

Allow Disarm Traps to debuff Constructs/Golems to make them temporarily crittable.

Right now rogues don't have a lot going for them in terms of utility, rogue scouting seems to be all but forgotten when it comes to zone design, the new poison and trap systems have helped out a bit but I think adding something like this would add another dimension to a fairly neglected class skill - and come on wouldn't it be cool? Who doesn't want to critically hit one of those sour-faced mud golems, really give them something to frown about.

Anyways, other players/actual rogues should take it from here. Tell us how you really feel.

Not being able to melee crit constructs made me dodge some particular mobs or events ( * cough mod maps * ) for oh so long, and I think it's a pretty decent idea.

There are literally two circumstances where you will ever use disarm trap and in both of them you can beat it without. The first is master of the gates, the second is high keep. I love anything that makes any rogue skill even remotely useful

i try to disarm any trap im aware of if i can but i usually find that sense traps can be buggy at times. when i was doing the highkepe traps for lantern i died sevral times cause i couldnt sense a trap around a corner and trying to move into line of sight triggered it. also it seems that sometimes traps below or above the rogue can be finicky on being sensed (water tunnel in starfall).
i feel a somewhat bigger range for sense traps would be nice and it would be awesome if it could sense them through walls or corners.

Also lets not forget how all high end traps fail to be disarmed even with max skill and +25disarm. Crazy.

Pretty much all of this. Disarm Trap is bad. Sense has too low a range and is buggy and at 250 +25 you still fail a lot of traps a lot of the time and thats ridic.

Great idea. I'd toss undead in on that too, for those times you don't have a pally with you.

I agree with all of this. As someone who has played several rogues here, the Sense Traps skill sucks and the effort to raise the skill is even worse. It was mind numbingly boring to raise on Live and the skill here was only made more difficult to raise and not made any more rewarding for the effort.

Set traps is cool, except every trap shares the same timer...

Disarm traps? Only used that when trying to skill up... (see also: tedious)

I support this. Another thing it could be used for evading whirlwind mobs or rampage. Maybe even PS?

ya and while we're at it just make disarm traps quad backstab & transform rogues into giant invulnerable seaturtles... what?

I fully support the idea of making disarm traps temporarily debuff constructs in some manner, because it kind of makes sense, with my brain, and the thinking, and some of that good logic stuff, but making the skill into some magical button that turns raid mobs into fluffy kittens that bleed sunshine might be, you know, dumb. (and imbalanced)

this is bad for the previously stated quadruple backstab juggernaut seaturtle godzilla button that makes you vomit cannonballs of sunshine argument stated above.

I'm disarming the skeletons face guys, hold on.

tl;dr too much sass: This is a very good suggestion. Allowing rogues to disarm constructs to give crit strikes to their group/raid would benefit the rogue class in the utility department along with improving a very underused skill. However, using this amazing suggestion as a free meal ticket for anything you have possibly ever imagined wanting in your SoD career as a rogue is probably a bad idea.
