Damage Shields, Druid, Cannibilize, Breeze Clarity

Ive seen shamans cast AOE nukes and they arent even that bad. They also have AOE slow as already stated. But now that you bring it up, give wizards track and forage too before I quit too!

While we are on the subject, there are a number of items I have questions about...


In one, there is a Metallic Claw with an effect right click Greater Heal. At the level you can click it, not very spectacular, but why is it DRU CLR but not SHM?

In another, there is a pair of shoulders with right click breeze. It is ENC NEC WIZ MAG and oddly... DRU? Anyone care to explain that?

These are the only two items I recall off the top of my head, I am sure there are others.

That's just how some items are. For a long time there was a nice pair of ft2 gloves in DHK that were dru/sham but not cleric. You could say that druids are the closest to true casters (clerics wear plate, shamans are big and beefy), and that the claw is to enhance those who heal the best, which is the druid and the cleric. IDK, that's kinda just how they are. Those items are so old it's not an oversight.

any kind of free heal is unbalanced in the hands of a shaman.. greater healing may not be a very large heal but it still has potential for abuse when combined with cannibalize

With torpor/slumber's insane low mana cost, shamans don't need a clicky heal whatsoever. :/

Please give warriors a uber damage shield too. *sarcasm off* I like the idea that my class dosent have everything he needs, if you dont have the best mana regen spell, then by all means, group with an enchanter! this game is ment to be played with others, who will contribute to the group just as you do. another point, druids are a utility class, they serve no real purpose (sorry druids, i love ya but its true). They get mediocre healing, dd, dot, buffing, porting, charm, invis, and probably other things I cant think of right now. If you want to be able to do everything, dont expect to be able to do it well. While they are a fun class, they are expendable.

Ever seen a shaman nuke effectively?

Well, I did see shamans that do not whine.

If you want to track make a Ranger, if you want to snare, you have your pick, if you want to forage why did you not make an Iksar?
If you want Dots that not break root, go Necro, (but then you won't get root until 34), if you wanna nuke well make a Wizard, that will work if you want to AOE too.

Like everything else, SOD is choice and compromise. You can make your choice of being great at one thing or not so great in many. You are the greatest support class there is, you make any group with melees in it instantly shine and work 100% better.

I chose to make a cleric and be the best healer class, but I also chose to compromise, be a druid and second/third best at everything, because sometimes I am content with just being useful.

If you want people to go oooh and aaah at your crits roll a Wizard or a Rogue, but be prepared to the tediousness of being unable to do much without the support of a group. Shamans are not broken as a class, I am unaware if any of their spells are broken, but the class works great.
