Damage Shields, Druid, Cannibilize, Breeze Clarity

Why are the damage shields on the druid so damn weak? and why doesn't the druid get any kind of mana regen spell? The shaman gets cannibilize and health regen before anyone, to balance out the unlimited supply of mana the shaman gets, the damage shields on the druid should be uber or atleast enough to make a difference. If the druid does get a mana regen spell its gotta be by the time I want to quit.

Druid's get the best damage shield in the game at 65. Druid's do get mana regen spells that are self out-doors only.

Have fun quitting.

By the way, the mana regen spells that he speaks of come in the late 50's and 60's. The one he speaks of is Mask of the Hunter providing 4 mana regen/tick (can only cast outdoors) and Protection of the Cabbage at level 58 I think. It also provides 4 mana regen/tick. At level 65 you can get Relic: Ward of Nature and it provides 8 mana/tick regen.

We also get Shape Of The Earthmother (AA) that provides with mana regen. So what the hell are you talking about, and did you even investigate this, at all?

It's pretty clear the OP has never played a shaman (their play of the druid class seems to be suspect as well), and the idea that damage shields were meant to offset shaman cannibalize is just wild.

Maybe we could use a new forum titled "Out of Left Field" or simply "WTF?!" that threads like this could be moved to.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Druid mana regen is awesome, especially with maxed earthmother. Afaik every caster class has some form of self-only mana regen--necros get lich, shm get canni, dru get mask of the hunter / shape of earthmother, wiz get familairs, mages get ele form, cleric get that selfbuff, and enchanters get mana taps, though that isn't quite the same / as good as the other classes, it's certainly not bad.

Mages also get mod rods as a sort of ghetto cannibalization.

Yeah, but that's not selfonly. Encs get kei, druids get WoN and soforth, but they're group buffs of a kind.

what level is your druid? You didn't state this, so shush.

and why doesn't the druid get any kind of mana regen spell?

well there IS a website with the spells of Dalaya that's in a sticky(that means it's up on top of this forum) that you might want to research before asking a question pertaining to spells.

The shaman gets cannibilize and health regen before anyone

and this is why you would want to listen to my above advice. Shamans get Canni at lvl 24, Chanters get Breeze at 16 and Necros get Dark Pact(self only Breeze-like mana regen DoT) at lvl 8. Who gets what before who now? ANd yes shamans do get health regen before anyone, is that a problem?

to balance out the unlimited supply of mana the shaman gets, the damage shields on the druid should be uber or atleast enough to make a difference.

Shamans have the best mana regen, Canni + Kei + FT = out mana regen even a necro(of course that's how it is on Live... here I'm not so sure but it seems likely, so maybe someone could confirm that?). I absolutely love necros and think that they ahve uber enough mana regen and don't really care that a class can do that better than me. Do I ask for anything to 'balance' this? No, because it already is balanced. Druid Damage Shields do do 'enough to make a difference' but you have to wait for it. I have to wait for my more powerful dots and a wizard has to wait for his near mana free nukes that help take out greens in a flash......... no pun intended.

If the druid does get a mana regen spell its gotta be by the time I want to quit.

since you didn't do your research.... you'll probably quit before you even read this post.

Druids get pet charm before shaman do. So charm a good pet and let it beat up stuff for you and you can save your mana. The end.

Every class is not as good in a thing than others, everyone has its good and bad sides.

Ever seen a Shaman port others?

Ever seen a shaman Track?
Ever seen a shaman Snare?
Ever seen a (non iksar) shaman Forage?
Ever seen a shaman cast DoTs that do not break root?
Ever seen a shaman nuke effectively?
Ever seen a shaman cast an AoE of any purpose?

Poison Storm (or is it Gale of Poison?) an AOE? I think they get one, but they're rare...

AOE "of any purpose"

I should have noted that simply wasting mana is not a valid purpose. It's what... 200 mana to do 60 damage to 3 mobs?

shaman also get Tigir's Insects.. which is an AoE slow and decent in the right situations.. on live i used to use it to aggro plane of knowledge mobs, which previously weren't attackable :p
