Crashing when not using EQW

Ok - the game works fine - that is as long as I am using EQ windows, yet the thing is I can't stand using it.

So I turn it off - I get full screen. I log in and I go to server select. I go to log in to the server. The game minimizes and crashes. I get an error saying the "Memory can not be read."

I've read through all the help topics and did searches and have not found anything that works - going to attempt to uninstall and do a complete fresh install to see if that help.

I am using EQ anniversary edition and as I said if I am playing window mode it seems fine so if I must I'll suck it up with that but would be nice to get around that.

the best thing i found to do was to use eqw, and increase the game resolution to fit your desktop so it appears fullscreen. The reason for this being is most video cards hang when switching modes from a fullscreen game at a different resolution going back to the desktop, and i flop around programs a lot sometimes when i play.

No idea about your error though, and im curious why everyone wants "Full Screen" so bad when its inferior, and you can mimic it through a window.

I suppose its old habit hehe, well thanks anyway I figured there wasn't anything I could do but as I said going go ahead and do the fresh install today see what happens. :dance:

Just a small update I found out that it only crashes at 1600by1200 resolution. If I go lower it works full screen.

Odd but interesting.
