crash before server select after login

Hey.
I'm trying to log into SoD on a new XP computer.
I enter my account information and press enter, which result in the game window dissapearing instantly and nothing starting up. There is no error message.

anyone have any ideas?

Sometimes this happens to me, but it turns out the next window is just hiding behind another window. Alt-tab will usually find it for me.

If that doesn't help, did you do a normal install or just copy it from an existing install?

I have the same problem and I copied it from an existing install. Shouldn't be hiding anywhere because I only have sod open and nothing else. I know there are files that are "bind on install" to your computer that comes with the original game. Does it have anything to do with those files perhaps missing?

I had the same problem. turned out to be a conflict with the windows screen settings and sod settings. try either changing your windows display or easier still just change the screen settings in your eq.ini file to match your windows settings. (mine was 1440X900)
