I came up with an idea while sitting in history and thought of a solution to the problem that necros have with being important in groups and raid (I know they are considered dps but usually are wanted less over a mage/wizard/etc).
Ever get annoyed by all the corpses of mobs lying around? Well here's an easy fix, Corpse Harvesting! Basically it implements a use for corpses for necros. This would help in the RP line of SoD as well as the problem mentioned above where necros lack an ability that would make them desirable in groups/raids.
Corpse Harvesting would allow a necro to cast a spell or use an ability to harvest a corpse and drain its energy to buff himself and a group. Depending on the class/race of the mob it would give certain benefits for a short period of time.
For Example if the mob was a warrior type class it would grant a temporary str buff, sta buff, and AC. If it was a rogue mob it would grant a temporary haste, dex, agil. For a shamn it would grant wisdom and other stats. Of course there can be modifications to this depending on what the developers think. Of course it could just add the same benefits no matter the class or race. Furthermore this would only affect the corpse of NPC's. Another idea is that the benefits could depend on the level of the spell or ability. This would create a new line of corpse harvesting spells. If it's an ability, then it would add more benefits according to the level of skill.
The component of the ability/spell is also an important factor. The corpse requirement could be: the spell must be casted on a fresh corpse or casted before the mob dies. The question of whether the corpse is allowed to be looted or not before harvesting would also be up to the developers. Of course the corpse will rot after it is harvested.
A way to make it more difficult or fun is to force the group or necro to kill the mob in a specific way before allowing it to be harvested. This could also add a new part to necros that could be implemented into the cult of entropy quests.
This idea could be changed in anyway of course and is just what I thought of so far. Personally I think the necro class is okay so far but this could be the change that would solve the minor problems the class has. Anyways I'll be glad to hear some other thoughts, opinions, and statements from people who don't like necros
