does anyone use a computer controller to play this game? is it possible?

I played eqoa on ps2, and I reeeaally miss how easy the controls were, with the dual joysticks and the L/R buttons as hotkey lists. Maybe I just haven't pickedu p on something yet, but the controls feel awkward; moving the camera with the mouse, can you set the camera to auto follow you?t

I used to use a "Microsoft Strategic Commander" way back on live when I was playing my Bard and only did single instance of EQ.

Was actually quite cool to use with my left hand while mouse in right but did make difficult for typing.

I use my XBOX controller for EQ sometimes. I use a program called "ControlMK" to emulate keyboard keys. You can also set it to emulate the mouse, so one joystick is your mouse and such. http://www.redcl0ud.com/controlmk/ is the webpage for it.
I'm not sure how this is with third party programs, but I seem to remember wiz saying third party programs are OK as long as they don't help you see or do something that you would not normally be able to.

Gravis has a simmiler keystroke emulation ability with the program bundled with their controllers however in most cases wit hgames where you have to use a mouse and keyboard(most notably first person shooters) it doesn't work too well since, generally speaking, its either far less responsive or far too responsive compared to what you're used to. However for games where the mouse is not actually involved a controller can be quite a time saver. Hmm, now that i think about it a controlelr could be used, even if not as a primary device, to add shortcut buttons for often used long command strings.

Just a thought there.

i dont know who here has played eqoa, but all of your commands were lsited in four button multi-leveled hotkey lists you axcessed bt holding the R2 button and using the directional buttons. I loved it, if I could somehow set SoD to run the same way, fighting with a pet would be much much much easier.

honestly, I just miss eqoa, but I sold my ps2 and my account has been long deleted, its too abd there isnt an SoD style server with a ps2 eqoa emulator. ;(
