Content that can use a facelift;

The only thing I don't understand also perfectly well in the zone now is the Eye of Tarhyl, aside from it just being flavor?

It's a BoE dropper, an event with a phoenix. I'm not sure how to start it, i have only seen it.

Do you honestly understand any purpose for Mephitkalia the Invincible? (a mysterious genie)

everything he drops is fake, it doesn't actually do anything, like ible gull's accurate truncheon.

You're lucky I like this month. Anyone activate my yearly halloween event?

Nabhan Captain of the guard bugs out on the responses he gives you if someone killed one of the previous progression quests after.

Good example of sequence events being:

1: Raid ports in and kills guardian mephit from the 2nd city using amulet of hakim service, skips jherek, and raizol/raigol.

2. raid ports up using wizard port to zone ent, clears mephitkalia, ambassador, and then gets to jherek and quits.

Nabhan Captain of the guard bugs out in the responses he gives and they are not accurate to the most recent mob that was killed. The zone is now perma broke for progression until it respawns, and with high demand for guardian mephit for his PoLore artifact this sequence ends up happening alot.
He's for flavor. He has no purpose that can be 'bugged' out at any point, ASIDE from controlling the city invasion event at one point (note to future devs, don't try something that complex in your first zone~).

But ya, his responses aren't accurate... but beating the Mephit shouldn't affect that.

Also, All of the progression quests with the Dowleh in the 1st city do not complete when finally turned in. You can get the appropriate cash/item rewards, but not the flag for completing the quest, making it very difficult to complete the quest without insider information.
Consider the 'quest' an investigation. Once you get enough evidence you're just done. But you get no notification of progression. I thought that was cute when I developed it, but alot of people prefer more guidance in this sort of thing. The quest not closing is not stopping you.

The Traveling jeweler asks for all examples of djinni jewelry and offers a reward, but with 6 separate examples of quest item jewelry and raid loot obtained from the area requestsed she does not accept any.
Unrealized quest objective, but not that important to progression. I'll change some dialog on her.

The Hakim Trader that does the amulet of hakim service quest doesn't actually tell people he'll make it for them most of the time. He simply doesn't reply.
That thing was just sorta thrown on, I'll take a look at his dialog.

The Historian's quest referencing some text about the Great War obtainable soemwhere in dalaya is either horribly obscure, broken, or never fully implemented.
Was a hook for a future quest, but those books were never written. You probably found one volume in Tower of Tarhyl though.

Mephitkalia the Invincible is stupid, and a tier raid mob dropping fake tier 7 items that actually don't do anything at all is incredibly retarded. This looks like a Dev joke easter egg some people might have played with and forgot to remove.
Mephitkalia the Invincible drops some mildly useful utility items, some joke items for the lulz, and prepares you for handling the final exam boss you haven't reached yet. In addition if you say the right things to him he can start up the quest to get to said final exam boss earlier than usual.

Nothing about that was exaggerated.
Aside from getting to the final boss, I'm pretty sure all the encounters are balanced and doable, and the gear is fine for it's progression. So I'd beg to differ.

If you want brutal unbiased logic I think the Amulet of Hakim Service port needs to be changed to port you to the 1st city. Logically it makes no sense that it ports you into the enemy base, the 1st city awards you with it, calla hakim, not calla suhayb. IT's the amulet of hakim service, just fixing this alone will alleviate the problem with screwing up the progression kills and it just doesn't make any sense as it is.
In fairness, before the civil war, it was all one big city, under the rule of the Hakim. Like other content, the PoLore quests messed up alot of progression related things, but people porting in to get mobs you want is a pretty common problem when I left SoD.

In retort, CoMercy is still incredibly screwed up:
1) The original design from it involving the beacons was never fully removed and is buggy and non functional for anything at all.

See below.

2) Althunna was going to be added as a tier 9-10 raid encounter and was never finished.
The above thing was going to be part of the fight. As it stands neither do much of anything, and rarely affect anything at all. The mobs that occasionally spawn are terribly easy for anyone in the zone.

3) Thanes still spawns every 5 hours providing free lawl loot.
If he's killable thats a problem. But if he's not triggered by the pre-requisite fight, he's supposed to be invincible.

4) Judge Rouf Stoutmane's activator is still broken and doesn't respawn on failed attempts, which can be accidentally triggered by althunna sworn paladins just running around hailing stuff.
There is a secondary activation method, but ya Sworn folk shouldn't be able to activate it. Easy fix.

5) Gunther is still 4 man-able and lawl.
That's actually Waldo's content. Also Tier 4 is very 1 groupable in general for high tier folks. Also that maze is really annoying. But I'll see what I can do. I hate making bosses in general though.

6) Rodger still goes perma invulnerable at 90% if your dps is even barely good at all because of his mechanic for when his adds pop.
Ya he probably needs to be looked at, but as a mini with sub-par loot for his tier by design I'm doubtful many people will care. Still I'll see what can be done.

That about covers most points you brought up. Expect a bit of activity in the next day or 2 from me to cover these.

The event seems to reset every 5 hours because it's not actually being completed. Usuaully i'll pug mercy, kill the back 3, come back and see the avatar standing and ready to be reactivated. The activation script spawns a new thanes for you anyways.

When I killed Mephitkalia the Invincible we got a robe for a class / race combination that didn't exist, and an item with clickie gate. Obviously the robe was joke loot w/e, but we were told the gate clickie just didn't do anything at all when clicked. and yielded no stat benefits from equiping (fake item?)

The dowleh definitely has some bugs when he relocates to the lava fields during your battle with him.

The amount of enraged subayb's that spawn during the sepaa salaar fight make it almost impossible to win the battle on tier or even overtier without exploiting the regeneration of the critically wounded and just burning him down (which i assume is not the point of that battle?)idn't do anything at all when clicked. and yielded no stat benefits from equiping (fake item?)

When I killed Mephitkalia the Invincible ....

I always assume the point of this fight was just for some fun loot and decent exp to break up the normal raiding a little.

I simply referred to your character is being the ultimate ringer and crutch for the only people who have progressed this zone entirely
I'm pretty sure we never used Meyers to spawn Gorzenath after the first time we did him. I've been flagged for spawning him on Ponolus since the first time we actually killed him. Current Goon Squad has never done Gorzenath so pretty much everything you've said about this has been untrue.

Quit putting the word gorzenath in my mouth. I just said he's a perma crutch, and he's always there!

for me he dropped an item called tome of the imp lord with clicky shrink.

We're just gonna have to agree to disagree here. I find him hilarious, and he's a very optional boss, so don't' expect any changes there. If he's not worth your time, don't' do him.

The dowleh definitely has some bugs when he relocates to the lava fields during your battle with him.

Most of his issues come from not doing a true reset on loss, if he's doing what I think he's doing. Will look into it a bit harder in any case.

If you are being overwhelemed by the enraged, than you are not doing the fight as intended. While possible to power through it that way, there is a much easier way.

I have no idea what that last sentence actually refers too.

By design, anyone who beat Maysun beat the zone. That there are optional and secret bosses in the area was a fun experiment, not progression. Now if you feel that you need to 100% complete an area, more power to you, but don't expect it to be easy. It was made VERY obtuse for a reason, and I was surprised when Goon Squad figured it out with no prompting on my part. Took them weeks of just trying to figure it all out if I recall. Definitely a think outside the box moment, and pretty unique for SoD, but all that is by design.

* Fixed the quest for the wounded soldier so it actually works for all classes now. Less awesome, but at least it works.
* Changed some dialog on the traveling jeweler to be a bit more explicit on what she is actually after.
* Made the Dowleh/Sima quest actually close when completed.

more to come.

much thanks cyzaine!

i think the item was called "the long way home" or something and was supposed to have a gate clickie, and it appeared to, but putting it on (think it was a hat or something) none of the stats would actually affect the players stats and the item did nothing when clicked.

I'm not sure, some paladin got it and claimed it didn't work.

Yeah it is a joke item

I agree with abelfaec for the most part of these zones needing a face lift. Pending on how each boss is triggered they can eather be super easy, Super hard, Or completley broken and unkillable. I used to raid CoMercy every other day with the guild I was in with Stryda Kakos glex and a few others I forget. We were in the Guild Retribution.

I was really excited about Progressing into CoMercy Lots of mystery and chalenge learning events. But My excitment and suspense came to a hult when I realized what we were looking for just didn't exsist. We cleared all the events and mini bosses up through Duke Bad ass ( Thanes) The Story of the zone ends here. We looked every where through the zone to find out where to go next. We Found the secret passage with the Named there and thought that was next. We cleared a large numer of the Over Powere Guards ( AOE STUNS, Harder then most bosses there) And it sadly was the end of our progress in the zone.

Retribution kept CoMercy locked down on farm because after figuring out all the strats the majority of the bosses when not Bugged out where super easy (1 boss did indeed take 3 people to kill) The Loot is really good there too Especialy From Duke Thanes (CHEST,Haste ear) CoMercy Really is a good zone just needs a little more polish and an end to it.

As for other zones mentioned in this Post of needing polish I agree Poearth could use some Work on the trash. there is way to much trash in the zone that really has no point besides being trash. Some sort of Item quest turn ins or Quest loot or something would be nice. Perhaps an EQP/Plat Reward for some drops from the trash to make them more worth while instead of FD pulling bosses Accross the zone. If this zone is intended to be tedious then its done right but from a raiders perspective its Boring to sit there at zone in and wait for pulls of the same 5 mobs (HP is a bit high on them). This is just my input to make things a little better in Poearth It really could use a revisit.

As for Pofire I really didn't spend much time here. I just remember that Resists were key the boss fights were good and on Par with tier. But from what I recall the quest did have some issues. I personaly never tried the quest here though.

Rolunaan Drehar here BTW

scince this thread is asking for many zones not just pofire issues lol,i guess i will throw out ruins of old nag i honestly dont think anyone ever goes there so its kinda wasted imo,but i havent tried to zone in and play dodge the dt mobs scince returning to sod,is it even still in game????

Still in. It's part of at least two quest lines.

not to get to offtopic but I had no clue there was even anything in the zone I always just heard you got death touched in there so I never went.

It's storyline-important. If/when it gets cleared out, that'll be a big storyline thing, too.

To be fair, a BIG part of the whole Ikisith expansion involves the Mist that makes that place so deadly.
