Concerning Jewelcraft

Shortly after the JC patch, I started jeweling away with my enc, only to find after about 400p my skill was on around 40. It seems to be that this skill progresses VERY slowly, and I was also a 250 JC on Live, and I know this isnt Live, but the difference between the way the two progress in skill is HUGE.

Maybe you would like to tweak it abit or something Wiz, thanks for your time.

.

I kept hacking away and after a cool 1k im now skill 55

I have a few new things for you to look at Wiz.

First, Enchanted Silver does not stack, Enchanted Electrum does; not sure which you wanted, but no matter, they contradict themselves.

Many gems wont combine with certain molds, not sure if this was intentional but only being able to make a necklace out of topaz as opposed to necklace, rings, and earrings is alittle weird.

Next you can't re-sell probabaly 80% of the stuff you make to the vendor, so you cant even recycle your plat to make more stuff, this is mostly where you lose your money in JC on WR.

Last, I tried combining a few stacks of electrum, never got a skill increase, then I noticed that it had no message about chance of progress. (i.e. Your chance of skill increase is: xxx)

BTW Melwin, at Silver Peridot Earrings the chance is 23, and I think Electrum may be broke to increase skill, because it didnt have a message at all about skill increase.

JC in its current state is pointless, and im actually pissed off that I spent alittle over 1k and can make cool +2 vs disease rings.

I hope that when it does get fixed that possibly anyone who sunk hours of there time and money into the tradeskill may recieve some compensation for there losses, and ill keep JC'ing for now to try and find more bugs.

I'd like to agree wtih everything Pathius said... it does seem a bit rediculous to have spent over 300 platinum at a skill of 34, and come out 60 combines later at a skill of 40. That probably isn't a lot of money to some people, and perhaps I shouldn't have started it to begin with, but to spend that much and not even be able to touch electrum (my goal, at the time) was disappointing, to say the least. :(

After you stop seeing the Your chance of skill increase is: xxx message appear, STOP MAKING THAT ITEM. It is pointless. It may not be trivial, but you will not gain a skill up. -_-

.

Zinaire, obviously you didnt read my post, or didnt quite comprehend it all, Electrum comes after silver, and for me to be making SILVER peridot earrings, means I havent started on electrum, when I tried electrum it gave me no chance of increase, which means its broke since electrum is harder, and I still have a chance of gaining skill on silver, peridots at 245p a stack though is not cheap, especially when you MIGHT get one to two increases off a full stack thats why I tried making electrum stuff with the low end gems.

Something is OBVIOUSLY wrong with the current state of the jewel craft tradeskill.

You can't increase skill on items that you have 0% chance to make.

I will look into JC though. We have fixes for reselling and whatnot coming in.

I believe Silver Peridot Earrings are harder to make than Electrum Malachite earrings, which could explain the lack of increases. Also, it is normal that some gems don't make necklaces, but all should make rings/earrings.

.

I tried electrum peridot, tried electrum malachite, tried electrum pearl, tried a gem on the inexpensive, midprice, and expensive scales, none had a chance of increase. Mind you this is ALL with electrum.

Also I know ive tried silver peridot, which is about the only thing left thats increasing my skill, think the only gem after that is opal, and that would be close to 350 a stack I believe .

You should make it where we can start electrum with low end gems without spending 350 a stack on gems only to combine with silver to make a +2 to whatever. It's a HUGE waste of money, and to expect us to spend 1050p for 3 stacks of gems to raise our skill maybe 6 -7 times is ridiculous.

and wiz I didnt fail everytime on making the electrum malachite, jus didnt have a chance to increase,

hope you can tweak it alittle or something.

thanks Wiz.

Old world recipes

I know a site that has the jewelcrafting guide for the live server. It's old and dusty (just like grandpa), but I still refer to it once in awhile. It includes the different combines by stat or metal, and has the zero-to-grandmaster guide there too.

Anyway, hope it helps:
