Computer turns off randomly

While I am playing, my laptop turns off randomly while playing. Game runs smooth. I 2 box. CPU usage is pretty high though at 99%. 1 instance of EQ takes up 50% at 1280 x 800 resolution. However, I checked the option to not automatically restart my computer upon errors, so I don't think its related to that, because my computer is still just turning off.

Anyone having this problem? Perhaps its graphics card related?
I have a NVIDIA 1gb laptop card. 4gb ram.
 
Well this is just a guess but it sounds like your laptop is overheating then shutting down before permenant damage happens.

You also might want to look into installing EQ playnice. It really helps with two boxing and especially your computer running at 99%.

I had this issue with my laptop before getting 2 new desktops. EQ playnice seemed to help greatly so give that a whirl.
 
Yeah overheating sounds like a winner there. Try what Gregar said. EQPN works well for 2 boxin.
 
Thanks, I'll go try that now. I got some better playtime out from changing resolution to 1280x700
which brought CPU usage to the low 90s. However, I just came to check this forum as it turned my computer off for about the 5th time today.
 
EQPN will cap your CPU's usage and prevent this issue. Your FPS may suffer, but hey, it's better than your computer restarting.
 
The only other possible cause of this problem that I know of is a faulty power supply. Way back in the day when I first started playing, and again when i first starting raiding my gimp computer had similar problems. The first time a techie friend of mine found that my power supply was bad. The second time the same techie friend suggested I get a dedicated graphics card which removed the heat from my Mother Board. Both times this fixed my problem.
