So I had a Nextel phone ... personal one. It was expensive every month. My company decided since they have Nextel to provide me with a phone so I didn't have to pay out of my own pocket since 80% of my phone use was work related.
I cancelled my Nextel phone ... I got charged an extra $200 ... apparently my 1 year contract from 2001 was in fact a 4+ year contract somehow. Nextel states that when you buy a new phone from them it "refreshes" the contract for 24 months. Odd I don't remember anyone telling me that.
So after 2 hours of phone calls bouncing around they still say ... tough luck gotta pay the $200.
Hmmm ... interesting ... well surprise Nextel, I'm the Technical Project Manager for the school district I'm in. And I just made the recommendation to switch from Nextel to Verizon for the entire district. We worked on some plan details and now the district is on board for the switch over.
Their $200 profit from me just turned into thousands of dollars in lost profit because they messed with the wrong guy. When will they learn.
