To turn in the components for combine armor you must have a prison key at the moment. I find this to be highly unnecesary, because killing gotss for each new person that enters your guild or wasn't on at the time of the kill is really ridiculous. Not to mention having to kill a mob that is 'menial' to your guild, that other younger guilds avidly seek for its upgrades rather than the fact that they need a prison key causes more problems in my eyes than the small percentage of people that could potentially exploit this. I'd love some staff feedback, because there has to be some other solution than what is currently implimented. Thanks for your time.
 
Great point there.

My guild (PR) Seems to be close to moving past GOTSS, and I know that at least I still don't have that key. Would suck to have to convice my guild to kill a non-target mob just for my personal gain, later down the line. :(
 
It could quickly turn from a "bottlekneck" to "You can never get this item, because you are in a guild that's too good for gotss."

If you're in a guild that is too good for GotSS, then I'm not sure what the difficulty is of going to kill GotSS?

If you want everything hand fed for you, then prison shouldn't be the zone you're looking at getting into. It's a SMALL bottleneck at most, compared to some of the things encountered in the yesteryears of live. If your guild can't go and kill one simple mob that takes an hour to do maybe once every month or two, then it is of my opinion that you do not deserve the item in question. Not even looking at the fact that if your guild is too good to kill GotSS, then you're probably able to one group the ice giants, at which point you could just get some friends after someone else has killed GotSS (one whom has key off GotSS also) and grab the ground spawn you need.
 
Kisuo is looking for a solution that doesnt require high end guilds to cockblock Gotss just to get keys. I see no reason why that should be the case.
 
Unfortunately, while one grouping Ice Giants may be so, the getting a raid down for gotss isn't quite the same.

Half the reason for Ruin not wanting to raid GoTSS is simply because there are other guilds that could actually use his drops and we don't really want to rob the lower tier guilds of that, such as PR or Defiance. Another is that most people simply have their key already. I don't see why, since its possible to get whoever is on the gotss raid at the time all their keys all at once, it can't just be that you can hail the vaporous projection in Prison for a key or something.

I'm happy with it either way, just stating how annoying it could be for someone who wants the key and offering a meager suggestion.
 
I'm not suggesting that the bottleneck be removed all togethor, but rather just a modifcation to the quest be made in which guilds do not have to repeatedly kill gotss to get everyone keyed and thus qualifed for combine turn-in.

I'm thinking possibly making it faction bound like the dragon/giant faction quests.

To recieve combine armor you must have a certain level of faction with The Imprisoned.

Once your faction with The Imprisoned can't be improved anymore, you're qualified for combine turn in, rather than having to have a key.

I think that would be a reasonable bottleneck to show that you are worthy of the armor, and takes away from guilds having to kill gotss over and over.

With most high end guilds having enough keys to get the entire raid efficiently into prison, I don't see a need for every single person to have a key, and this alternative would effectively solve any problems while still staying on track with the lore.
 
You don't have to raid gotss to get the key, you just have to go there when he's not up (along with someone who has gotss key), which does not take a raid. If your guild refuses to take even the time to just get you in there and pick up a key after someone downs gotss, well, then it's your guild that's the issue.
 
Besides, gotss is a total joke for any of the higher level guilds... (Fors, Ruin, PR & Escu) Imho it should be a problem to take 30 minutes once in a while to go and whack him!
 
I kinda gotta agree with wiz... get a group go down there and get it... i know there are people still with the dust and havn't turned it in for key? Well its easy you get to area right before IG and instead of going in there keep going though the door turn left keep going kill warden open door get key.
 
It's impossible to cockblock GotSS for reasons already stated, removing the key requirement to get combine armor isn't neccesary for reasons already stated. I agree with Rab/Wiz on this one. Hell, GotSS was even one grouped, heh..
 
I didn't see that way of doing it before but I agree that if you spot someone with the gotss key, go downstairs when he's not up, pick up key.. turn in to goblin, you win :/
 
Maybe move the spot where the dust is so you don't have to kill gotss to get it but jsut have the key?

I think the bottleneck is realistic, and the key is a good way to impliment it. Although changing it to work with either Taeshlins Scale OR the Prison key wouldnt be a horrible idea.
 
That's not a bad idea actually, taeshlin scale would be a fair alternative for prison key, as any guild who can do him probably lets every piece of gotss loot rot
 
If they could do that, why wouldn't they let combine gems count as ornate gems? (which I was told isn't going to happen)

psh pepsi ftw. But getting prison key is not difficult. You can 1 group the Ice giants np. And if you quick enough you get down there without having to kill a one.. it takes 30 mins max if you dont' slack and get it done to have prison key from nothing.
