Combine Buffs Added to Charm Stats

Thread title pretty much says it. There was a post a looong time ago about lack of buff slots and I'm 99% sure Zaela posted this as a potential idea. I thought it was amazing, but I think the thread faded and nothing ever changed.

So... is there any chance at having combine buff stats just going onto a players charm, and the items being deleted? This would be a one time thing, since combine is the only buff that essentially everyone gets, keeps bagged, and clicked almost all the time. It frees up bag space, and buff space.

Its a very slight buff to players since we can suddenly keep 1-2 more buffs than before, but I cant see that changing any fight balance.

I'm not entirely sure how it would be implemented, but It seems very doable. Maybe a mob that lets you hand it bp/legs and gives you the charm stats instead
 
Or for players who wear combines it could hand you back legs / bp without the clickies on them.

Great idea. It was then and it still is.

I do not know how difficult the coding would be for adding the stats to the charm. If that is part of the reason this never was implemented what about trading the chest/legs for an aug with stats to match the buffs? Sure, you would lose an aug slot for this but gaining the buff slots and bag space seems like a pretty good trade.
 
Why not add an aug slot to charm and be able to turn your Legs/BP in for an aug that only fits in that slot. Seems like it would be easier than coding it to add directly to the charm but I don't actually know.
 
I agree Combine Aug bp/legs aug would be very nice.

Turn it into a small quest.
Obtain combine BP and legs.
Take them to an enchanter who gives you a combine essence
Take that to an alchemist who turns it into Pure combine essence for the cost of 5k pp
Take that to a stone in some zone enchant the stone with the combine essence recieve Combine enchanted augment.

Why does everything have to cost extra plat? Already would have to do all this extra running around to free up buff slots.

Because Freeing up 2 buff slots like this is a HUGE BUFF.
That lets Knights use CoTPred, or Sbliss, Vah back,Blades of the magi, The list goes on.

Would you expect the aug to have the same stats as the combined buffs?
 
the attack from that item doesn't go over the usual 150 cap. it's ferocity 4 with an illusion

No, imo that would be a tradeoff from having the awesome chance of turning it into a aug or something similar. Ie would not expect it to be as good as the clickies is today.

If you win some, you should lose some too...

I hope developers don't ask for your opinion if/when they make this item. If you turn in your BP and legs for an item with less stats then no one would use it, and it would be a waste of time for a developer to code. Sounds like a lose lose situation.

I don't understand why you should lose anything tbh. You took the time to progress (ages ago in some cases) and do the quests/ collect the gems to get the combine pieces at all, then do a quest to get this new item (aug or otherwise) to free up buffs, as well as potentially pay more plat for it at all... Should have the same stats at the very least. Otherwise sounds like a huge waste.
 
You win TWO buffslots if this is implemented and two bagslots.

Why expect everything to be given to you for free in game?
