codex of power change

i suggested this idea once and was shot down.

i think splitting the codexes into parts would be cool. You could have codex of might (melee damage and pet damage), codex of power (spell damage), codex of restoration (healing).

The problem has been stated very simply before. With the addition of ridiculous amounts of new tomes, the ceiling gets higher while the floor stays at the same level. I think WoW did a great job handling this by making it faster to get through the earlier levels when they raised the level cap.

I think implementing a similar system in SoD would be hugely beneficial. We could either reduce the amount of exp required to get to 65, or reduce the amount of exp needed for AA's. I know there are people that will bitch that "I had to level my toon the hard way" but I think this is a terrible argument for people who take this game way too seriously. We shouldn't penalize players for not picking up SoD sooner and that is exactly what we are doing everytime we raise the ceiling.

very well put

But tomes quickly become such a marginal benefit that after AAs, having some CoP done is just kinda nice until at least tier 10. Even then, there's really no push content-wise to be getting through them until tier 11+. Once you get past there, though, it's a matter of doing CoP 5, your class tomes, plus maybe 10 others dependent on class to really get you through anything. FWF people did dozens of tomes they didn't need because they didn't have anything else they needed to do, not because their cleric can't live without Tome of Infection Mastery 2.

This boils down into the mistaken idea that you need anything more than starting CoP for any content before Sanctum or later Yclist. Sure, it seems like a steep climb past there, but it's also a decent length of content to consume on the way. It's just not right to make someone done with tomes the standard for newer people to shoot for when content is not set up that way. Heck, Cless is still doing Codices, but it's never been a problem for me.
