Cmal Master Key

As everyone knows Cmal has about a bags worth of keys once you get them. I really enjoy that zone so I'd hate to throw away the keys I have to it but they are taking up alot of room.

I'd like to suggest some sort of master key that works on all the doors. Possibly quested, involving turning in all the Cmal 1-3 keys (maybe not the key to Cmal4, keeping that a seperate key, so that lower tiered people who cant obtain that specific key could still get their master key). This would also help bank congestion of all the Vah/Iksith quest pieces.

p.s. Do I need to hold onto all these Vahl and Shahar expedition reports/cipher keys from the (I think) [Deaf Leading the Blind] questline, once I have that banner complete? He just handed em back to me so i've just had em banked.

no, burn em

edit: i like the cmal key idea.

Anything really that reduces key congestion in my bank. I have 3 bags of keys and counting by now.

Or make it so that like, the 2 key opens 1 and 2, the 3 key opens 1, 2, and 3, the 3.2 key opens 1, 2, 3, 3.2~ Because really if you doing later cmal its not like you cannot get the keys. They just eat up bank room.

(Or revamp past stuff to use char flags, that would be freaking amazing and would literally free up hundreds of bags across the server!)

We are in fact currently doing (and have been) research towards reimplementation of the keyring, or a keyring like feature. As such I don't know if much time would be spent towards patching the symptoms, rather than fixing the problem as a whole.

What if you just went all ToT style, or ikisith style, and had key-mobs check for flags, that seems way easier than putting in a key ring, and you could mass-flag people by spawning like a Keymaster somewhere who flags you based on what key you hand him. Just a simple matter of putting npcs at the doors to zones that need a key to get in, and with raid stuff changing it from a key to a flag. Functionally they are the same, one just doesn't take up a bag slot~

Well ya, its just we don't currently have any way of tracking a physical door to flags. Not that that isn't addable, its just not currently implemented. Thats one of the things on the table in fact.

i wish you the best of luck in this endeavor as many will cheer in praise for such things.

not sure if this would work but could you make a ring, then when the "ring" plus key are given to an NPC the npc puts the key on. Bit clunky but might work. This ring could open any door, but would have a list of all keys w/ a check.

cmal 1 - yes
cmal 2 - no
cmal 3 - yes
cmal 4 - yes
everchill prison room - no
jailers key - yes
........
if (door clicked == yes)
open door

might not be the most efficient, but its really not that much data to check

Glad to hear that this problem is getting looked into, especially since the Ikisith expansion is cluttering up bank slots everywhere. I would love to see a keyring feature!

I also thought a bookself would be cool, like a house item where you could putt your no drop books into, books like the ones you get from MQ, theres some from the Jayla questline and other random books people accquire. Interesting reads so I dont wanna trash em.

Btw, is there some kind of unchangeable coded reason the private storage boxxes in your house cant hold no-drop things? I assumed that since they were private and only you would be able to access them that they would hold no drop items.

"Private" means "Only this account". So any toon on this account can pick up any item from these boxes. And now you know and understand why you can't put nodrop items in it.
