Clerics Vs Druids

I think you have it flip flopped. Druids are often preferred in XP groups because they can port and their heals are more than enough (not to mention DS, and other buffs), although still considerably weaker than cleric's. Clerics are a must in raids due to HoTs and their powerful quick heal. I mention quick heal because they are extremely crucial in fights with high DPS mobs. Never will you find a druid main healing a raid unless you are raiding NDHK with a 8k+ warrior or something, and archaic slow/good slower.

the preference of a cleric over druid on raids (we usually had 2-3 druids 2 cleric and a shaman)
same in groups (druid is much more desirable imo) Buffs, nukes, debuffs, heals compared to heals and smackin things with an hammer.

you will when your clerics are slacking! :p

I guess it might depend on what type of group you are talking about. I usually play in guild groups where we log in toons to buff and port. Then we go somewhere difficult or at least a spot where we can pull enough so we don't have healers standing around DPSing to pass the time. I guess in a pickup group the ability to port, nuke, and DS might be a nice asset.

Yeah, in groups where there is a huge demand for heals constantly, the cleric will be a better option since they are pure healers and just have better all around raw healing power. In this case though, your group may be lacking for the area you are hunting. I know I have solo healed Rust factory, Cmal 3, and Deep FR just fine. I guess it depends on the make up of your group as you said.

I'm not trying to say a druid can't do fine healing a group, just that a cleric will let you pull a little faster or fight something that is a little tougher. It's not like you are going to get creamed if you switch your cleric out for a druid, you might have a slightly harder time.

On live druids sucked compared to clerics.. like hardcore. they were literally completely patch healers to the point their heals were garbage. Its much different here. (at least when i was main tanking for my guild)

very few areas are like that. the 6 man raid zones (EF and cmal4 (for sure) NEED clerics cause you need 2
healers)

other than that, i think a majority of the high tier players don't care which comes. Obv i am more desirable in groups since i have 400+ AAs and 3 tomes finished and ToT/Thaz gear that any cleric.

Point is tho, for groups its either or with a slight nod to druids imo. IN gono groups i nuke and heal and don't run oom and its not that taxing.

If you are sayin clerics are better pure healers, then i agree. Are they better in groups or raids.. no its druid and even respectively.

Zak i agree. imo best group has a druid and a shaman. both can dot debuff (slows druid ac debuffs, archaic etc) and heal and still have the mana to keep up usually.

Anyway, getting back to the original post, I'd say they are pretty well balanced. Which one you might want obviously depends on the characters and exactly what you are trying to do.
