Cleric Fear Usability Question

I'm not complaining. I am just trying to understand the use of Fear on a Cleric. It seems very useful perhaps combined with another character's snare spell of some sort. However when used with soloing, there doesn't seem to be as much opportunity to nuke as root gives, which is also seems to be less expensive.

The Cleric seems to play as a tank/nuker. Please lend me suggestions on how to use Fear effectively in solo play.

Fear them, then nuke them as they are running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Or, I believe if you root them, then fear them, you can go behind them and they are pretty much disabled, allowing you to melee and nuke at the same time.

Worth a shot.

I was under the assumption that Fear wouldn't work with Root like in Live, but I never tested here. I guess that will be the next thing I'll test.

Please do, I faintly remember doing that in live, but my memory may be leaving me

I cannot test it, as I do not have a root yet to go along with my fear.
