Not a single necro? :monocle:

I believe Druids to be the most 'played' class overall.

/rant Most wizards and druids stay /role or /anon because they get pestered for ports even when they are in zones like Plane of Torment and Prison.
Why would someone in PoT or Prison leave that zone just to port you.

Last night was pretty odd, tons of the traditionally less played classes were on, but 0 or very few of the typically overplayed.

For instance 9 enchanters, 8 necros, 0 wiz, 0 mag, 10 druids (the exception, usually a highly played class), 0 shamans, 6 clerics (5 65 ones), 7 bards, 6 rogues, 4 monks, 2 rangers, 1 sk, 4 pallies, 2 warriors, and 4 bsts when I looked.

gah, I klnew I was forgetting a class, I just knew it. You just can't be careful enough. ahwell, I will do another poll at another random time with necros on it and i guess we'll see if the polling data holds.

It is true that it doesn't take into account rp or anon people, the poll isn't meant to be a perfect representation of classes played but a more contructive post than I guess 30 percent of everyone playing is a shaman and the rest are playing "something" type post.

It would be interesting if the polling data should hold true over random intervals, which would make an interesting small project on the side if I were to remeber to do it. The times the poll data is taken should be randomized so as to mazimize the total possible variation in classes played possible. If the pollls were done over a longer period, say 4 or 5 intervals, that would essentially remove the subset problem of anon or rp characters unless a disportionate amount of players who, say, play paladins also go anon. The reason for this is that the polling data would generallize the data enough that a conclusion could be drawn with data absent, not a lot, but enough to offset the small numbers that would potentially play anon or rp, a number that could be resolved by first taking a server count from the log in screen then following up with a quick poll.

Would be sweet to do 2/3 samples a day over a week and average them out over that period for a smoother result, if you are down to do it.

Definitly intersting numbers... once you get some more samples taken will be very interseting.

To date I have never meet another paladin... and I am hunting in undead zones.

I can agree with the paladin and rogue being underrepresented. Wizard surprises me though. Of course, more Wizards will be /anon than other classes, due to constant TL tells.

I'd say cleric population will always be false, since any raiding guild uses 2-3 of them, and many times, those are botted.
