City gate items and faction

Hi everybody,

Just wondering if, in theory, every race/class combo can achieve ally status with all the factions that give out city gate items, or if there are some restrictions in place.

Thanks!

im not a expert on this but i belive it is possable to get ever neck/port item in game but it will requir a lot of carful work for along the way. so of the easer ways to get faction might drop your faction with a nother set.i could be wrong on that one as i have not started the grobb neck area port but have finished my newport and antica ones with hason. hpe this help you out yours hason the warrior

When I had a taldorian hop around Grobb several month's back he was instantly attacked by the guards and killed.
Since I don't know of any way to raise the faction until the guards con green and am not even sure if you can do turnins then it might be impossible for taldorians to accquire the Grobb Port Neck.

I am taldorian, and I possess the Amulet of Blackscale Service.

I am KOS to the Grobb Wardens, and I cannot seem to improve that faction, but I was able to aquire the Port Neck with use of invis.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Thanks for buglisting this guys. Doing quests invis or while sneaking and bypassing any faction requirements seems like a great idea.

(and by buglisting I mean putting it in the quest forum since that's where quest-related issues go!)

In Mielech b, if you kill the penkeeper (where old Executioner spawned), he drops a Pen Key as his rare. There's 3 slaves in cages in the room - handing one the key will result in Grobb Wardens and Citizens faction, and they'll give you the key back, allowing you to free the other 2 slaves, then come back in ~30 minutes and free them all again. I don't know how high this will get you, but my iksar monk was still getting faction from it at Amiable, so pretty high. This can be done while kos, as long as the slaves con green (and if you can kill the penkeeper, they do).

Actually, it's not done by bypassing faction requirements. The mob for the turn-in to get the amulet is not on the same faction as much of Grobb. So if you can invis past the mobs that are KoS to you, then go uninvis to do the turn in, you'll get the port neck: and you'll do it without breaking any rules.

As far as I know, it's impossible to actually turn in items while invis.

Oh good lord no!

The Blackscales are not KOS to everyone, the Wardens ARE.  You invis to Nightkeep, there are no Wardens, only Blackscales.  I still have the four notes for the heads individually.  If I manage to make the Wardens not KOS, I will turn them in to the High Warden.

Not sure if it matters, but it IS possible to turn in items while invis as long as the mob you are turning into can see invis. At least, I noticed it the other night after I had turned in some giant heads. I went back out, conned a couple of things, and it was indifferent... which was a shock, until I discovered I was still invis from my trip through Siren's.

guess we all opened a big can of worms with this one. i also know you can use illusions of race to get past people that you are kos with so dont see why you cant use it to also turn in item to quest giver. if this is a problem as you put it rab. then the whole system might need to look at hear. im not shore as i have only been playing on SoD for last about 7 weeks now, but this is a great place to learn from. thanks hason the warrior.  :)
