Cindered Construct Bindings

I would like this item to be reviewed, in my opinion it's underpowered and could use a few tweaks, here are some comparisons between it and other waist items from lower tiers.

First the Bindings themselves:

Two waist items from lower tiers:

Energized cord is from Lower Thaz Air Mini, arguably the easiest Thaz mini, Wrapped Vine Cord is from ValorB Druid

The Energized Cord and the Wrapped Vine Cord are practically interchangeable but as they come from somewhat comparable tiers I don't see a big problem with it.The problem comes when comparing the vine cord (the mildly better one) to the bindings, going from the Wrapped Vine Cord to the Bindings you gain 3 ac/2 str/15 hps/5svall/CSI 7 while you lose 8 agi/8 dex/100 mana/10 mr/+1% crit/3 ATK.While it is both a waist and neck slot item by the time you are geared enough to take down Corefire you will have already farmed UT quite a lot which leads me to another item that drops from UT Air Boss

As I said any guild taking down Corefire would have farmed UT religiously and would have seen this item drop many times, from what I can gather it's his common drop.Going from the Bindings to the Wind-worn Neckguard (backwards in tier) you would lose 6ac/CSI 7/2 Str/5 FR,CR,PR,DR and gain 5 ATK/12 Sta/4 Agi/4 Dex/10 HP/135 Mana/15 MR.

This item just seems to have an identity crisis, trying to fill 2 different slots and not doing either of them well, the gains do not outweigh the negatives for the classes on it.

Recommendation:

Make it clearly a superior item, add +2% crit/tweak the stats slightly (and add CHA to them, hybrids and straight melee need it too and it's missing from a lot of items) and change the valiance to ferocity 5.

Edit:First image fixed

You can only use waffle images when posting to the SA forums. =P Fix your links! :keke:

The item in question:

And yea, I agree completely Corefire is *really* hard compared to the druid and air mini, and even the UT air boss is cake compared to him.

A thought that instantly came to mind that wouldn't actually change much but maybe enough to make it worthwhile:

Change HP to 185, add 1 FT.

Wouldn't be a huge change or so but for all that I know it might be enough to make people chose it over the others depending what they want.

Also can someone explain why Volkov's displays 4 SV vs. all, Rakeel's 5?

This has been a problem item from the start.

I does suck in the atk department compared to the lower items, but at the same time, if I make it any higher than valiance 6/ferocity 4 it overshadows higher ToT items, and I'm not really keen on bumping those higher ones up. Although I guess those ones aren't much higher than the much lower Thaz/ValorB items either...

The only alternative to bumping everything up would be to change the item altogether, but then I'd probably still have to change some later ToT item anyway. There aren't a whole lot of untouched slots in upper ToT :x

I appreciate the response :)

When you strip the item down to what I'd consider the most needed upgrades to it from what I posted as suggestions, I'd go with a HP upgrade (185?), some Cha added and +2% crit.It would still have less ATK than the ValorB waist, but would have 25 more HP and +1% more crit, with a little added CHA which is lacking on quite a lot of melee/hybrid items. This doesn't seem like an overly large upgrade to it considering the gulf between those two tiers.

That might be one of my old cropped screenshots of the item back when I was originally gonna post about the item, so I guess the resists were tweaked downward.

How hard is it to get casting speed for most hybrid classes? I know as a bard, that focus is pretty wasted, but it DOES make a difference for most of those other classes. I also think adding 2% crit would be a bit too much since you can use it in the neck slot, but I wouldn't be totally opposed to adding 1%. As a bard I would just want the CSI7 taken off, for other stuff to be put on, but if other hybrids don't like this suggestion, maybe the CSI7 should be weighed more than it is in this thread.

Hybrids already have a bonus anyways so casting speed helps I guess but you won't even notice much of a difference at times

I really believe it needs +2% crit to make it a clearly superior item to both the wrapped vine cord and the neckguard.I actually wouldn't be against simply removing the neck slot waist slot from the item in order for it to get that much crit. One of the big things holding this item back was it was designed for 2 different slots and had to have it's stats watered down because of it.

Edit:Just looked through some items and it would then be stepping on the toes of "Rite of Pyre",could we get the same stats for the neck slot?

As far as your CSI 7 question I can only answer for Beastlords and it's really not a factor, my highest cast time buff only gets reduced by .2 seconds, Hybrid casting speed bonus already lowers it from 10 sec to 8.8.

Great change to this item! I cannot wait to replace my haste item so I can use this in my neck slot. Gogo 25 cha!

Thank you for the changes, it is definitely better.I would say nix the stun resist for at least +1% crit but I'm biased and the stun resist might be more attractive to a wider base of classes.
