Charred Banded belt augment.

Do you think it would be possible to get Charred Banded belt's augs type changed from type 2 to type 5 perhaps?

It's a plate class belt and was designed with the idea that it was made of metal not leather/cloth, hence the Type 2 aug slot. I wouldn't be against changing it, but then there is always the problem/complaints from those who liked having a belt that was not a Type 5 for once...

I may be completely off base here, but for plate classes it is sometimes harder to find a place to put your type5 MQ faction (Silver Crown, Blackscale, Council) aug. other than a cloak and a belt. Limiting one or the other makes it even more difficult to find a spot for it. I believe that is why it was asked for it to be changed.

Why does it matter what type it is? Both type 2 and type 5 can get the exact same stats from augments, unlike jewelry (which are less powerful). Belts were always the one slot a chain/plate class could count on as being type 5, so the faction augments would always have a home.

late edit: fixed augment type gosh.

Do you mean type 5? Because the belt currently is a type 2...

As I previously stated I have no problem changing the belt to a type 5 (and am leaning towards changing it for convenience sake when/if I end up tweaking it's stats). The only reason it was made a Type 2 was because I designed it as a plate/chain belt. Plate/chain items use Type 2 augments.

At the moment on many tanks their belt is the *only* slot 5 augment they have. The standard of keeping belts slot 5 wouldnt be a bad idea imo if only to give tanks a spot to smack their blackscale (the obvious superior faction) augment.

Making the request to miss Z.

Edit- I am a dumb dumb and this isnt a miss Z item. Jayelle has the final say but I would put my vote in for slot 5.

I have to agree that classes should always be able to reap the benefits of their faction augments and the waist slot seems to have a tradition of almost always housing type 5 augments in recognition of that.

There should never be a situation in which a person has to compromise to fit in the faction augment, it's just one of those items that is a solid part of your character makeup.I'm a leather class so this has never really been an issue for me but I can see it being an issue for other classes, and I think the augment type of both the MQ and faction based augments was decided on based on the ready availability of type 5 slots, primarily in the waist slot, and type 3 slots...everyone uses jewelry.

Would it not be possible to make the augment the type more suitable to the class it is for when you get it. Like when you get the war, shd, pal, brd, rng, rog, shm, clr aug its type 2 while when ou get the mag, wiz, enc, nec, dru, mnk, bst aug it would be type 5?

That's what I said, hahaha. But, until that happens (if it is even considered - that's for he big man to decide) I will go ahead and change this, and any other plate class belts from here on out, to a type 5 aug.

I know this is a bit of a derail, but why not make the faction augs capable to go into any type? That is if its possible. That way regardless of class and equipment, the aug can be used.

Someone didn't read the whole thread. :keke:

Yeah, he did.

You are talking about making the augment type 2 or 5 based on class. He is asking if the augment can be made to fit in both 2 and 5, regardless of class. That might not be possible, coding wise, thus he is asking if it IS possible.

It's possible to change what type the augment is, yes.

The process would be indescribably painful and very likely to involve legions of bugged items with impossible augments and we're never ever going to do it (except possibly by making the next tier of augments a different slot so that the transition happens during hand-in for upgrade).

But it *is* possible.

You guys don't seem to be reading my question right. Can an aug be made to fit into more than one slot?

I think TM answered it although the answer doesn't seem clear about multi-slots. Apparently it should be possible to have an item with type 2 3 and 5, just hard to code and might lead to bugged items...if I nuderstand correctly.
