Can we get a global channel like OOC but not OOC for casinos? When more than one person is announcing their casino it fills up my chat screen too quickly and I can't see what other people are saying. With their own channel Casino's won't bother those who are trying to read OOC since they can just turn off the casino channel. Just a thought. thanks.
 
It's possible, but they aren't like conventional channels, these have to be created server side. I'm not sure whether you could filter them or not.
 
Well Wiz did create a "channel" for Bands. I'm not so sure about the limitations.

Wouldn't you think if casinos were limited to a "casino channel" that they would be rather pointless in maintaining, making the channel pointless, meaning it's work for nothing

It is, so if you don't want to /ignore the people auctioning their casinos then just just turn off auction. With listsend feature it's not like it's really 100%necessary anyways (and situationally you can turn it back on).
 
how else are we supposed to advertise? would you rather us shouting in your zone?

Edit: its no different from someone spamming buy my stuff in /auc

Actually it is a lot different. Most people selling something will take up a line or two in my window, but these casinos spam 4 or 5 lines sometimes. You get 2 people running casinos and you're shoving the legit sellers off of the auction screens.

I would suggest that the people doing auctions make an alt for auctioning so they themselves don't get ignored.

Just a suggestion. Without a means to filter it I'll have to start ignoring. It's not a threat, it's just how it is. :-/

I personally have a bigger problem with tradeskillers who have 3 paragraphs hotkeyed for whatever the crap they are buying and selling. It's fucking annoying

I plan to.

I don't tradeskill, but I can tolerate the occasional spam from tradeskillers. They at least contribute to the server economy.
 
and we don't? we offer a service that people are willing to pay for. It may not be gear, but it is entertainment. If you don't like us, don't pay attention. It's that simple.

I don't deny that you offer people entertainment. And no...a casino is not enhancing or contributing to the economy.

It's like if my druid offered ports for plat. I'm not really doing anything for the economy, but I'm providing a service.

It's nothing personal against the people who run the casinos. I just find them to be annoying when I try to read auctions and everything is spammed off the screen.

If you don't like us, don't pay attention. It's that simple.

I'm not sure how you can pay for a service and not be contributing to the economy, could you explain your thinking a little more clearly?

Give it a rest, casinos are not about entertaining, they are about some asshat w/ a few kp in their bank trying to make more bling w/o actually doing any work.....outside of /auction spam.

I wonder what your stance on the issue is :hmph:


I'm sure people tradeskill to benefit all of human kind with their hearts of gold and definitely not for profit, or as you put it make more bling w/o actually doing any work.
