Cant setup game because of new EQ Launchpad

I have had EQ setup on one of my computers for about one month. Today I installed EQ Evolution on my other computer, and when i clicked the EQ.exe to to the complete file check it installed a new patcher that must have just came out called LaunchPad. The new patcher doesn't have an option to select which expansions you want to update, or an option for a complete file check there is just an option to Log in... How can i get around this?

You can't.

edit: actually move the entire game directory from one computer to the other. problem solved.

I already tried copying it and when I clicked on SoD patcher it said there was an error

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

Probably because on the new computer you did not install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

Well its not actually a new computer its a few years old and has windows XP, the first computer I had the game on is new and has Vista. How do i know if I need Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 ?

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

The sod patcher gives you an error when you click it if you don't have it.

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

heard rumors that the mac patcher for the mac version of the game is NOT on launchpad.

I'm not sure if it uses the same files, same filetypes, etc... but if someone wanted to make a project out of recompiling a unix based patcher (mac os is unix based right?) for windows, it might be somewhere to start.

anyone else figure out a solution?

Buy Game: Titanium, problem solved. It has every expansion up to the last 2 recent ones.

wouldn't it just patch it self to Launch Pad?

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

So now everyone that is going to install this game has to buy Titanium?

It will, but you wont need to patch live, you'll already have the required files. Hopefully.

Would Evolution work as well possible?

Not really, you would be missing out on some zones, especially the GoD ones.

Or one of the other expansion packs. Some run as low as $5, which isn't exactly going to ruin you.

There's not really much we do about it either way.

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

So if i bought Titanium it would solve the problem? i thought i had to still do a complete file check?

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

It already has the required files, filecheck only fixes corrupted files and updates files that interact with the server like .txts. I've installed Titanium and haven't updated live and I'm playing perfectly fine.

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

I've just run into this problem myself, I have old old discs (EQ Trilogy, SoL and PoP) and it patches right up to LaunchPad. I get the impression from the LaunchPad that if I were to log in with a valid account I would then be patched up to all expansions that said account is provisioned for. (Last time I quit I was up to darkhollow or whatever) At that point I should be able to run the SoD patcher without issue. Does this logic seem sound to you folks?

Re: Cant setup game because of new Game Launchpad

With the correct game discs, there is no need to patch Live. If you don't have all the discs up to GoD, that's when you need to patch.

If you played Live in the past, and are using those files, and they were patched to GoD (like you say you had DoD), then you should be fine.
