Brand spanking new to WR

I have been checking out all over for an answer to these two questions:

If I were to buy the Everquest Platinum retail version of the game, downloaded and installed everything on the disc, would I have a problem playing WR? The reason I ask this is because the expansions go all the way up to the release of the Gates of Discord and I was not sure if WR would support it. If not, do any of you know if it is possible when installing the Everquest Platinum pack to just install the expansions which WR supports?

Next question, I am a casual gamer and I was curious about WR accounts and the amount of time it will stay alive. Do they get deleted after a certain amount of time of inactivity?

I loved playing EQLive years ago and having my eyes just been opened to WR I am VERY interested.

I'm pretty sure that even if you installed all the expansions up to DoN you would still be able to play on wr, just make sure you use the proper hotfix and the patcher, i dont see any reason why the platnium version wouldnt work.

Yep, you just gotta follow the instructions and you can play.

Also, we never delete accounts, so don't worry.

Well since there is already a thread about being new to "WR" I thought i may as well post my question here. If I download the WR patcher would it prevent me from playing "EverQuest" on the live servers? I am mostly curious to see how the game was altered for a free server but wouldn't want to screw up my files for the live game because I still play the live game. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Decided to also ask the question about expansions post PoP such as LDoN. Are they usable in this version of the game? Or does this version not use anything after PoP?

you can get Everquest.exe from sony's site and download the hole game if you want. you dont have to buy it.

you only NEED up to PoP i think but from what i have heard in other threads, there are a few LDoN Files used so its good to have it (i dont). Anyway, if you put all of your winter's roar stuff into a differant folder than your main EQ folder you should be safe for playing both, if all else fails, you can just repatch to eqlive should you not like WR... which i think you will.... because its Awesome!

all you need

all you need to have technically is the eqlive patcher. go to their website and find it. patch (it takes a long time), then go to advanced and click allt he expansions, then repatch. then come back to wr and install fix, patch, and you're ready to go.
