Boot Beer

Boot beer isn't combining. I checked the wiki recipe against the in game book, as well as tried the combine (malt + milk + fungus spores + leather boots) in two different zones. I've asked IRC for help as well as /bug. Boot beer is needed for the combine with mielech war mead and I'd saved up a bunch hoping to grind through most of my mid-200 brewing with it.

Have any other brewers noticed this problem? I've bumped into two farming fungus in Stinger's Bog, so either this is a recent break that others haven't bumped into yet, or I'm being really stupid about something obvious.

More likely the later.
 
This recipe uses leather boots made by tailoring. It was clear at the time the recipe and book were made, but that clarity was lost in a patch 2 years ago.
 
There are so many Beerfest jokes I want to make here. Please assume I made them all and at least one made you snicker.

It seems that this combine for boot beer would get you a boot full of boot beer, which means you wouldn't get the boot back on combine. It also stands to reason that consuming it would work like virtually all other consumables. However, it bothers me to think that you could have a boot full of beer, drink it, and then have no clue where the boot went. That's got to be some powerful stuff, right?

Please help me rationalize this. I need sleep and it's keeping me awake.

Losing a boot seems more than reasonable to me, if you are a SERIOUS beer drinker.

I lost my keys, numerous coats and jackets, my car, and even my wife once from drinking beer. Found her eventually... darn the luck.
 
I'm thinking they are most likely well aware of the problem and just need the time to fix it. The GMs/Devs are volenteers and quite frankly they do a great job around here, i'm sure they will get to it when they can.
 
Looks like the recipe is calling for leather boots sold from vendors, like in north newport I believe (not tradeskilled boots), or dropped from mobs.
