Blessed Zones

The current blessed zones are terrible, Halas and Hmal? Seriously? Can't we make a list of 5-6 zones that would be rotated every 4 months that have blessed experience rates? Ill make a simple list below that covers easy to access zones that cover for the most part, all level ranges.

Jan 01 - Apr 30

The Warrens, Level Range 10-25
Warpstone Caverns 20-35
Lair of Paw 35-50
Tunnels of Lasanth 40-65
Overgrowth 65+

May 01 - Aug 31

Cesspits, 10-30
South Kaladim 20-40
Heartland plateau 30-60
Dragon Necropolis 45-65
Everchill Caverns 65+

Sept 01 - Dec 31

Shrouded Isle 10-30
Kings Pass 30-40
Keep of Mielech 40-55
Sorcerer's Labyrinth 45-65
The Rust 65+

Now one can argue that there aren't many blessed exp zones for the high end player looking to grind tome exp and my reply would be that if the staff wanted to they could add one more zone to each roatation just for those players.

Add Bloodquarry, Kaesora and Citadel to the list and you have everything covered. Even if this is not used or even liked by the sod community i would hope this post opens the door for better blessed zones in the future.

The whole point of blessed zones is to encourage players away from the 'typical' zones. So blessing BQ, Kaesora, Citadel, is not going to happen. Hmal has great exp if you know where to look. And sometimes Jayla (the blesser of zones) has a cruel sense of humor with zones like Halas and Hates Fury A

The whole point "as you put it" was to encourage players away from the "typical zones" but this was done back when SoD had a huge booming population. Now blessed zones should be more about helping new players catch up and get to the end game faster. You can also encourage more grouping at 65 by having more blessed zones at higher end. As it stands right now, alot of people will log in and just 2 box for plat and exp or just raid but i assure you that if we had blessed exp zones that cover all level ranges in the game it would be a welcomed change.

Also, Halas amd hates fury as a blessed zone (even as a joke) doesn't help the situation.

I'm just repeating what has been said by the staff. This is the stated purpose of blessed zones to my knowledge. I've seen an admin say specifically in ooc multiple times that certain zones will never be blessed. So your original suggestion of zone rotations (atleast with the zones listed) probably does not work with the current staff vision. I would suggest first trying to get the point of blessed zones changed, like you said, to "Blessed zones should be more about helping new players catch up and get to the end game faster", if you want to get more traction with this idea. Personally I like the blessed zones concept as it stands and do not feel that it needs any changes.

Pretty sure Hate's Fury was not a joke and (I think it was Woldaff) just put the wrong one on accident. Halas on the other hand...

I was on when these zones were chosen, and it was Slaar asking at the time. Slaar also mentioned that zones like Citadel, BQ, Kaesora, and Remnants will never be be blessed. And yeah, the point of blessed zones has been to draw people to lesser used zones to xp in. (So I wouldn't count on DN or OG ever seeing it either.)

I do not think Blessed Zones should be that static, but some general normalization would be helpful. Something along the lines of:

1. Randomly selected xp zone in the 10-45 range
2. Randomly selected xp zone in the 30-55 range
3. Randomly selected xp zone in the 50-65 range (possible exclusions for those hotspots mentioned above)
4. A 100% randomly selected zone.
5. Staff choice. I.E. incentive for zones with new content or zones they are testing for whatever reason OR just zones they want people to go to for whatever reason

That would keep the blessings nice and relatively random while guaranteeing leveling characters can always do most of their leveling blessed if so desired and 65s would have anywhere between 1-4 (#2 could be a low end xp zone for 65s, #4 is random, and #5 you never know) blessed zones. This type of change would compliment the change to bonus xp well and make the game more welcoming to new players without becoming overly static.

I thought Slaar set the exp bonus at cita when they re-upped it, just in case it could be blessed. I remembered she was /ooc'in what the number should be and I kept responding with irrational numbers. Because, that's what I do apparently.
