Black Mask of the Mistress

Here are the stats of Black Mask of the Mistress (int caster only):
15 AC, Range 8, str 10, sta 10, cha 30, int 30, agi+35, hp 195, mana 240, 40 DR resist, FT 1, mind shield 5, spell war 1.

Here is another mask from the zone, Mask of Multiplicity (almost all classes:
30 AC, conjuration +5, monster summoning 1, companion health 8, str 10, dex 40, cha 10, wis 10, int 10, hp 205, mana 240, 19 DR resist, 10 MR resist, 18 PR resist, aggression -1.

Comparing the two, they are tied with Multiplicity having better effects, reisst and HP and the Black Mask with FT, better advanced item effects. The problem though is that the Black Mask of the Mistress is from the BOSS of the raid zone while the Mask of Multiplicity is the second raid mob entrance of the zone. Here is my suggestion in part of whole:
- Change Range 8 to Damage 8; we haven't seen damage 8 in this zone yet. We haven't seen all the loot in the zone, but a good majority of them have dropped already.
- Skill mod or clicky?
- Something else?

This are the new stats of this item, and while it is a clear improvement from its old self, there is still something that seems odd to me.
This something is the Focus Effect, Range VIII, and I think it is odd cause a mere 3 bosses before this, there is yet another caster only item with the exact same Focus Effect.
So my suggestion would be to replace the Range VIII with Fiery Chaos, simply because 1) the same focus on 2 items that close together with the exact same classes is odd and 2) there seems to be no fire focus on any other piece of gear in all spires (atleast not on any piece we found so far).

Ouch, well I deserved that. That being said though, seems bad to just put it over fire as not all classes have great (or any) fire based spells. There's also a focus effect from cold from earlier in the zone which helps wizard and necro archaic so it's not like those two classes are getting the short end of the stick.

You are aware that all classes on the mask but ENC have either a relic or archaic that would benefit from fire focus, and that the cold focus does nothing for mages at all?

So, why throw in a revise that creates an odd man out than?

Cause ENCs ARE thwe odd man out all the time anyways... ;p

More serious though, what focus would you suggest?

Affliction 8 :V (Using Nwaij logic I have seen two Damage increment 8s and zero Affliction 8s, that is 200% more damage inc 8 focii; Using Raralith Logic this mask needs 3FT)

Affliction 8 is pretty much only useful for necros.

7% Magic focus, problem solved, useful for all 4 in varying degrees.

7% disease focus to go with the flavor of the mask already~
Edit: I meant 7, but 8% would be EVEN BETTER :V

Discussing foci:

Companion health/strength only helps 2/4 classes, bad.
Range can be found 3 mobs before, bad.
Damage can be found 2 mobs before, bad.
Afflicition really helps only one class, bad.
Mana con can be found 4 mobs before, bad.
Casting speed would help all classes but can be found on an earlier encounter in the same zone, questionable at best.
Duration can be found on an earlier encounter in the same zone, questionable at best.
Reagent conservation would help all classes in a way, can not be found elsewhere in the zone, but due to the nature of it its questionable.

Poison/Disease focus helps only one class, bad.
Cold focus helps only 2 classes and can be found on an earlier encounter in the same zone, bad.
Magic focus helps all 4 classes but can be found on an earlier encounter in the same zone, bad.
Fire focus helps only 3 classes, but seems to be nowhere else to be found, maybe.

tl;dr

I think it should be either fire focus or reagent conservation, and personally I'd go with fire focus cause its stronger and this is loot from the zone boss, after all.

On an earlier encounter in the same zone has never really been exclusionary. As long as it's not on the same slot, generally such things show their value in later tiers filling focus holes for classes that need like 12 of them (mages and necros).

Fire focus does seem to be rarer overall though.

Reagent conservation is pretty awful however. Due to the fact that the only class that really needs or wants it equipped is enchanter. All the other classes can just bust out an irandos whenever. Maybe when artifacts are out this will change. I doubt it though, and I would not hold your breath waiting for them to be obtainable.
