I had thought of this before hand, figuring that Thaz items would be dropped to a 2.0 modifier. As that would make a very out of line progression on bard raid instrument mods. I figured I would wait on making this post until the changes went in and I was sure.
First off to agree with this post you need to believe in the simple bard rule, a singular instrument mod should usually be better then a all instrument mod as a all mod effects is a lot stronger. Except with a extreme jump in tier or content. With that said onto the progression chart (left bare bones to show the jump/scaling issue)
PoA 1.6 (all) (weapon)
Sepulcher 1.7 (all) (weapon)
Inner Prison 1.8 (all) (range)
Thaz 2.0 (singular) (Quest Armor)
ToT 2.0 (all) (Quest Weapon) 2.2 (Armor)
So with the small jump between tiers we have gone though all the progression of bringing a singular mod to an all mod weapon. Especially ignoring the progression scale from instruments before it.
As discussed with other bards, this seemed to be very agreeable amongst all parties.
PoA/Sep/IP stay the same
Thaz 2.1 singular
ToT 2.0 (All) 2.3 (singular)
IS 2.4 (singular (if available)) 2.1/2.2 (All (If available)
This way, there is still actual instruments that are able to be used that have a greater impact of using them, even at the highest tier of raid armor loot. (Not trivializing the use of a real instrument) And providing the proper scaling for bard instruments between All and singular mods still mainly keep their differential, without being over powered. If you also wish to do it the other way and reduce the mods on the other items to put singular mods back in a slight lead that would be fine, I'm just looking for proper scaling of instruments though content. As a bard here for 4/5 years, this really sticks out to me as improper.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
