Hey.. Is it possible to get a pet that will have a graphic for when its sitting down? I think some druid spell that looks like a wolf did that or something but it would be cool =)

Just a suggestion.
 
The Luclin model wolves have a sit graphic. Old models, which are now the standard for wolves (and skeletons), do not. And I'm guessing it's too hard, if not impossible, to add animation to any model in the game.

Or perhaps bring back the luclin wolf models, I feel soo sorry when i see a barb beastlord run by with such an ugly pet. It barely resembles a wolf at all.


I loved the luclin models and i dont understand why they were removed.

Yes, I know this has be braught up lot before, but EQ is already an ugly game these old models just make it worse.

They use to be in but if I recall correctly, Wiz preferred the old models and put in old model wolves and skeletons. Back then if you wanted old model wolves and skeletons, you had to do it yourself. I THINK all you have to do to have the new models is to copy gequip5.s3d and global6_chr.s3d from a new install (or from Live patched EQ) and put it into your SoD directory cause thats what we had to do to put in old models before they were standard.

We also would get weird textures when we did this. Im not sure if it would also happen doing it the other way but if it does, check out this thread for a fix.

I'd rather keep the old ones myself. /shrug

I rather like the old models. While the new wolf models do look better, the new PC models only look better standing still. As soon as they begin to move, you see the most ridiculous animations ever.
 
Not sure if this is universal, but I have the luclin wolf graphics on my pc and they appear more or less as normal...


...They're just freakin' HUAGE! Without shrink on (in which case i'm then normal wolf size) it's really annoying trying to work out where I should be standin' to hit stuff. So yea, your more or less an ogre sized wolf in height. Trippy stuff, but good for a laugh^^
 
We officially support old models, which is why if you change the graphics to the new wolf model it gets so large. Some of you think that new graphics are better, some of you don't, and you're free to choose, but the official stance is with old models.
 
May I suggest giving barbs the Vah shir pet? Tiger??? That would be sooo cool.
