my character was banned for some unknown reason. is there anyone i can talk to to get this sorted out? hard to petition this =P

You were banned for being a generic jackass in each and every possible situation. In line with Banfest 2005, we do not tolerate this.

well hell, sorry being a "jackass" seems like everything in ooc was a pile crap. it's not like i was doing anything to cross any lines. and the dudes name in guild chat IS a city lol. people were giving me shit the whole time and i just mentiont hat his name sounds familiar i get shafted? fine, keep my ooc revoked but i really would like to continue playing with everyone. a lot of people can vouch that im not a jack ass all the time =)

but to be serious i do apologize if i caused any problems.
 
I don't know the particulars of your incident, but I do know that they've been pretty clear that they will be banning people with much zeal for the slightest of infractions. Knowing that, I don't know why anyone would even want to skirt the issue right now. You said people were giving you sh*t, but you didn't mention why. Well, people don't give *me* sh*t as a general rule, so you must have been doing something out of line.

Just so everyone is clear, /ooc does not stand for "ocean of controversy" and /gu does not stand for "grievance union".

I have faith in the admins here. They know what they want the atmosphere of the game to be like. As long as one is on the same page with that, there shouldn't ever be a problem.
 
100% back you up on this one Wiz (or who ever banned) shambo and a few other people acting outta line asking for a ban during banfest, i'm sick of people trying to push the limit, see how much they can get away with, like some one the other night came on with a name that was clearly out of the regs (Senorchavez or something of the likes) luckly he got his name nerfed, but i think for something like that, like it says in your rules, a name like that should be banned :)

Oh wow, about time. Shambo, bro... I'm sure you can be a cool guy, I guess, but I've never seen you say anything remotely intelligent in guild chat or /ooc. You are usually rather rude actually, like the time you told me to go to hell because I asked why BB wasn't poping. I'm sure, or hope atleast, that you are simply playing around and whatever but you never let anyone know you are kidding and you continue to make asinine comments to any and everyone whenever I see you type. Sorry you got banned mate, but you really did ask for it.
 
The only time I saw you Shambo, you were being rude and petulant towards our group in the Warrens. Several times in /ooc you would say stuff that was nether helpful nor pertinent to the questions being asked. I can't say that I'm surprised. Cause and effect.
 
Shambo is the only name I have on /ignore on my son's computer since I saw him drop the F bomb in the /ooc channel.

Fuck, it's just a word. Although I understand not wanting your son to see that kind of stuff at I can only assume such a young age. I believe it's trash to swear, but I really don't object to the word being used, and certainly don't think it's cause for banning. Considering Zodium swears a considerable amount at times. Meh.

Considering the filter takes care of the words themselves, there is no issue. You just don't want your children associating with some people.



Still, you take your kid to the zoo, make the snarling sounds, point through the glass, and your kid knows what a crocidile is.
You don't take him to the zoo, throw him over the wall, and yell, "Swim, boy. Swim!"

I didnt bitch and moan about him using the language in a serverwide channel, either. I simply added him to the ignore list.
I thought it was funny that I had recently hit /ignore and then see a post about the name.

You're right. It is just a word. I'm sure you can go to your local mall and yell it at the top of your lungs all you want. :p



<edit> I wasnt using the /ignore list to shield him from the word, per se....it was more of a pre emptive strike to shield him from what else might show up from this user.
 
Honestly, I drop the "f bomb" both on the main page, in broadcast and in OOC, so there's nothing wrong with that until you get excessive.
 
thanks to everyone for hijacking the thread. lol but yea seriously, is there any possibility i could appeal the ban and maybe come back with shambo? i already play with several other characters just fine.

sabbatha(or something similar to that) and I were just in a conversation when i guess i got /t bugged. so we started talking in ooc and then wiz and people were chatting so we both jumped on that and then everyone went their own direction with the conversations. i don't really think i fell out of line anywhere with the policy but if i did i apologize and will make sure it won't happen again.

Sham...i have been on this server for almost a week and i already know you are a monumental PITA. The other night, in a span of about 30 minutes, your pointless blabbering and insulting model of communication exhausted my patience to a point that i had to put you on /ignore...AND YOU WERENT EVEN TALKING TO ME!!!

However, i must congratulate you on your skill ups:

PBAoE - Zone Annoyance (127)

I am curious Wiz...what is the skill cap for those? 200? Please tell me there aren't any AAs or skill mod items that will allow them to exceed a hard cap.

I revoked your OOC the other night after seeing nothing out of you but "your mom" and "in my pants" in OOC. I think it's safe to assume that someone else saw the same thing and decided to take stronger action. I don't really blame them.
 
Homogenn, I think I was more or less pointing out that that wasn't the reason...or something. I know it's not a bannable offense to say fuck, shit, etc. I forget my point, if I had one. Which I doubt I did. I ramble...
