Auction House (zone idea)

The bids over constant batter with common drops that everyone has in the game going on in the /auc chanel are starting to pinch a couple of my nerves.

Here is my idea for the auction house.

One zone is called the Auction house. One by one people place bids on the item and the highest wins. Everyone brings all the thing they want to auction off on a certian day of the week. IE tuesday thursdays at a certian time is when it's open.

I know there is a lot of factors that go in this but then again it is only and idea. Random ideas to go about to do some.

-Auctioneer in major citys that will TL you to the zone and a clerk that will return you to bind.
-it's easier to turn off the auction chanel.


I am high, don't mind me just getting a feel for if this turned a few cranks in people heads. When i get high I try to be creative.
 
If the auction channel is bothering you, turn it off or move it to another window. The entire point of the auction channel is to sell items, and if people choose to do in a live auction format then that is perfectly acceptable. After all it is an auction channel not a WTS channel.
 
Heh, I've got to admit I'm in the same boat as you, Kylax. But as easy as it is to turn off /auc (and it's terribly easy), I hate to do so, because every once in a while someone does a /auc WTS Something I've Been Looking For.

I'd be more than happy to filter out the "live auctions" that go on and risk missing Things I'm Looking For There, because in all honesty, the items I'm interested in (and I'm paying several k plat for some of them) aren't worth THAT much spam (to me).

If it would be possible to separate "live auction" spam from the typical "WTS/WTB" spam that'd be great. Barring that, I'm afraid if it keeps up I'm gonna have to turn it all off and do all my business via the forums. =( I understand that Live Auctioning is a perfectly reasonable use of the Auction channel, but to be fair it's an excessive amount of spam, even when only ONE person is using it in that way. When you get 3-4, it's downright awful. =(

Thats almost creative so why dont we copy wows AH instead .

Well first you need a good search modifyer to sod.
You want to sell for exsample , Rusty dagger you place it out pay for the lil fee for the banker , person 2 bids 20plati
The time expires and rusty dagger auto sends it to the persons 2 bank to /cm listget it .


Otherwise the solution to ignore the auction channel is better.
 
Latten, that was unneccesarily rude.

He wasn't advocating a computerized auction system with npcs doing the work (and in the process ripping off WoW's auction house method). He was merely advocating a time and place where people interested in Live Auctions can go and do it; in an effort to separate the Live Auction spam from the rest of the WTB WTS spam. In fact, it sounds as if he's advocating live auctions to be a kind of weekly or biweekly event, and it could be fun if set up right (although I'd like it to not be more trouble to the GMs). The only thing the "auctioneer" he's mentioning would be doing is to send you to that place at that time, nothing more.

If people are spamming, petition them and a GM will give them a reasonable minimum interval between auctions.
