ATK Question

I am not quite sure under what forum to post this, so excuse me if I post under this one.
I am wondering if someone can awnser my question about the atk rating on my charactor.

I have recently recieved a emblem of the noble and equiped it with a 1hd slasher in my main hand.
and i found that the emblem only gave me 16 atk, which seems to have come from the +12 str. But I
am not getting the 12 to 1hd slashing. I assume that that is because it is not clientside, but I have several other
people playing in the same room as me, so i had my bard friend take his off and he lost like 70 atk.
I am wondering if there is a way for me to turn it on so i can see it, or if I am doing something wrong....
I also think i am not getting it on my peircing bonus as well.
I am confused....

I had a similar question a while back which Wiz promptly answered. Mine dealt with my displayed atk rating when wielding 1hs and pokers in primary. I had different displayed atk when I swapped places with my weapons. It was explained to me that this was a clientside display problem, dating back to Live where rangers capped piercing skill at 240 instead of 250 as it does on SoD. Basically, client side displayed atk is just a rough estimate and is not completely accurate as this is SoD and not Live and the staff has no intentions, that I'm aware of, to modify the client at any time in the near future.

If the item in question is better than what you were using before, then use it. If it logically should improve your chars performance, then it probably does so use it. If it makes you feel better about your char, then use it since perception is often more important than reality. Or you can spend 8-10 hours parsing each setup to quantify any difference. Just keep in mind that all skill mods cap at +25.

Yeah, that makes sense, I guess a little of my confusions stems from my friends atk going up with the item, why is his going up and not mine? is it just "random" on each charactor then?
