First off, i realize we have alot of imature children that play this game. This much is apparent when you ask a in game question in /ooc. But i happen to not be one of them. I am a 25 year old man, who is a leader in the community of which i serve.
My subjestion is for the Staff to Take a small step down and think with in themselfs if there actions are some times to rash. Some things considered throught and shouldnt be judged on a whim.
Today there seemed to be a pioneer, or a crusader if you will, who felt there mission was name purgeing. How ever some were looked over, the entire server errupted into finger pointing of whos names were "illegal". Sadly the game master didnt play the sociologist roll and take a step back but instead played along. I was one of those on trial so it seemed.
I wont name, names but some were quite apparently looked over when it came time to judge, while others like me were not. My characters name was Burnner. I realize that the name fits nicely in the profile of "he likes to burn" but i assure you it is far from that. Again i pleeded my case and tryed to defend my name from all the attackers in the /ooc but i was found to be a instigator and a whiner and my /ooc priv. was banned for 2 hours. After a short conversation with the judge, that was lifted.
Burnner was my favorite dungeons and dragons character. Ive played him over 6 years in the RPGA network and i have him serted and on file.
I know WR has little interest in the RPGA but maybe they would apreciate having a roleplayer on the server. Maybe not. Well besides my name being very important to me, i feel i cant play my character or be in character with the situation im given.
Kunta Kentay (if its spelled wrong, i dont care) wouldnt be named toby and i wont be named Farwan. If you see my character dont call me farwan, i wont respond. my friends wont call me that in game either. You can call me what you want, but i know who i am. This is what saves me. I pray the game masters dont find this as a insult but as a Plight. Lighten up on the names, its your server, and the rules make sence. But to not hear my case was unfair. I was hurt today and i have the feeling that nothing has changed. I am willing to bet i will get the same responces like "tuff man" or " keep it up and you will be banned". Having "banned" to hang over anyones head is a unfair and unjust way to lead.
If any of you hold positions over another person in real life you know you cannot use the "fired" word even jokingly. Same for Games where people spend there time and invest apart of them selves. Its to no supprise that people can live vicariously through there own character. So much gets invested!
Give me my name back, i wouldnt take yours. My name isnt a nurf, its a name. Im not kitty meow meow. As adults im sure you will all agree that whats most important is just having a good time. Thank you, if you read all this, then you have done more then ive expected already. I thank you. God bless.
