I,ve been RPGing for a long time. I've only recently started MMOing, and I've never played EQ. Would I find a place in Winter's Roar, or should I start with EQ live? I know some of the basics to keep me from looking like a total asshat.
I would rather donate money to you guys (people with passion enough to put this Virtual Server up) than a faceless corporation that's trying to squeeze every dime out it's franchise when it's been more than made up.
 
Well i would choice WR personally. On live everyone is pretty much uber as hell with 150/20 dmg wepaons or some crap... on WR a lvl 45 player can still have equip that a lvl 65 would have. Everyone is a lil more on the same lvl here. WR is also more suited for the non-hardcore stay up till 5 am player. Also number 1 reason is there is no corpse recovery to recover ur equipment..
 
Thanks LB and Timir. I'm currently in saving mode to upgrade to a better computer. As soon as that happens, I will be online and enjoying the company of Y'all.
My 400Mhz computer can barely handle Knight online, and I'm so tired of the KSing and what not there. Don't get me wrong there are alot of good people there, and it's a great game for free, but damn all that stuff is annoying.
 
If you are able to run Knight online on your computer ok you should be able to run WR just fine. You may have to adjust some settings but you could probably run it on your 400mhz machine.

Definately play on WR... For starters the people who play are a great help and enjoy (from what I have seen) helping newbies start out. On EQL, you'll only get a lot of newbie banter and insulting, that is assuming you aren't being ignored by the couple hundred players on.

And with a smaller population here, you will be able to get full attention by other players who are either where you're at or nearby.

Start on Live first? LOL. Not in the sense that I'm laughing, but in the sense that I'm lol'ing...

This post makes no sense. Short form, no, don't start on live. It sucks. WR is more like live than live is like live.
