Archery damage - arrows and parsing

If I remember right, upping the damage on arrows by 1 translates into 10% more damage...

I.e. a shot that deals 100 damage to a mob with a given bow and 1 damage arrow would deal 110 damage to that mob if the same bow was used, but with a 2 damage arrow instead... is that correct?

I suck at math. With that in mind: does that mean replacing all of your 1 damage arrows by 2 damage arrows would translate into a 10% increase of your overall archery DPS?

And if so, does that mean I can correctly estimate the DPS I'd do with, say, summoned heartseeker arrows by taking a situation where I used 1 damage arrows and increasing the parsed DPS by 70%?

.... or am I being stupid now?

With the right math, you should be able to calculate it.

I believe archery works like this: 1 dmg arrow = 1.1x base dmg, 2 dmg = 1.2x etc.

Here's my turbo (very tired) math before I go to sleep (based on previous assumption):

DPS you did with 1 dmg arrow * 1.727 = damage you would do with heartseekers (9 dmg arrows).

Multiply your dps by this equation for any dmg arrows:
1 + ((arrow you want to figure out/10) - (arrow you used/10)) / (1 + arrow dmg you used/10)

So a 3 dmg --> 9 dmg would be: DPS you did * 1.46

As a hint, 1 damage arrows don't give a bonus. Because it would be superfluous.

Not necessarily. If an arrow had 1 elemental damage and that damage was resisted it's not unreasonable to expect the bow to just do normal damage, and 1.1 damage otherwise. It is more extensible to not program special exceptions.

Are you saying that my assumptions or math is wrong and that the increase in dps from a 1 dmg arrow to a 9 dmg arrow is not +72.72%?

How do bows/arrows stack up? If I had a bow that had 200 range and 10 base on the bow and an arrow that was 3 base and 50 range, would that make the bow 10+3 (13base) and 200+50 (250 range), I assume the range increments do not add to bows (correct)??

Range increment focus effect does not apply to bows, correct.

As far as 10 base damage bow with 3 damage arrow, read the math above your post. A 10 damage bow with 3 damage arrow would perform differently than a 13 damage bow and imaginary 0 damage arrow, or a 5 damage bow and 8 damage arrow, etc.

I was wondering the same thing, but didn't want to ask a question before my other question was answered.

It's 5% per damage point over 1. If your shot would normally do 100 damage, it does 105 with 2 damage arrow, 110 with 3 damage etc al
