Archaic Spell Combine Box

I recently found out that the archaic spell combine box was made no drop, causing a huge hindrence for guilds that are just getting into IP versus those who have been established there. I understand that this change was made to attempt to halt someone from selling one of the boxes, but I am curious if there is another way that is less detrimental to achieving archaics.

One thing I came up with is the IP dragons dropping multiple boxes, so that the loot code put in place earlier to stop people outside the raid from looting would take care of any sales attempts. Another would be to just outlaw selling of the boxes, but I understand that this would take a lot of effort on the part of the staff.

Since posting I have been informed that more was changed in ways of drop rate of frags boxes etc to counter weigh this change. If that was the case feel free to say so and ignore the rest ) i wasnt aware.
 
It seems spell frags are quite a bit easier to come by then when we first entered IP, this is a pretty positive change for any guild going in to IP.
 
seems like it just shifted the bottleneck from getting the frags to getting a box per caster.

Forsaken has been in IP for.. i want to say.. 5? months, and we've got.. under a dozen archaics, yet probably 50+ dragon kills. Your logic is a bit flawed if you think the bottleneck shifted. The bottleneck was outright removed as the frags are much more common than they were.
 
Not when you have to get a dragon kill for each person now that needs their archaic / ritual because both the fragments and box are now NO DROP.

That's a big change from killing Yashira one time then passing it around to all the casters in your guild to combine their spells.
 
There remains a bottleneck in this quest. It was, previously, a bottleneck of constant farming for frags at a much lower droprate than current and killing Yashira enough to get one for your casters. It was changed after a few weeks to be droppable, and then changed back to no drop a few months after that.

But bottlenecks remain and that's how it ought to be for the single best spell your class will get.

Just to be picky, in the raid game archaic mez is far from the best spell enchanters get :p
