Ancient: fatebind

Well.. This isn't a new issue, tbh... but still, I think it should be, at least, adressed.

According to a conversation hold between gms long (year or so) ago, Fatebind was intended to be some kind of raid debuff, stacking with everything. It sure is totally unworthy to cast single grouping, much less soloing. The only "good" use outside raids is in duels.

The problem is it doesn't stack with almost anything. Mindwrack cause of the mana drain component, cripple cause of the attack debuff component, and there's also a couple more debuffs that will overwrite it. So, in the end, we clerics are stuck with an useful ancient (hammer) and a sucky ancient that we won't be REALLY using.

Could this be addresed somehow, or changed to a more useful spell? Dunno, like a summoned shield to go with the hammer... or something. I'm sure I'd use that summoned shield way more often that fatebind.

I agree that this spell is utterly worthless, aside from if you are a solo cleric or you duel. After 65 levels and over 250 AA's, I can say I've casted this spell less than probably 5 times in fights. It just doesn't stack with stuff, and it won't hold over better debuffs. If it would stack, that'd be neat.

Been toying with the idea of making fatebind increases the chance of criticals (spell & melee, probably ~5% melee and ~3% spell) landing on the target. The higher melee rate is because some mobs are immune to melee crits.

That would make me pretty happy.

I really like this, a lot.

I like the idea, wiz. That, def, would make it a valuable spell, and would justify skipping a heal or two to land it.

I have an idea, thats pretty much ripped from the live game, but I think it might be useful here. Clerics in live get a spell that acts as a buff on casters that reduces the cast time of any spell by 10-20-30%. I think that would be a pretty useful spell if placed on a 10sec-1min recast timer. I'm quite sure that would insure that this buff gets more use out of it, and it should stack with everything since I don't believe there is a spell out like that currently.

I would love to have fatebind changed to this or something from the "mark of" line of spells.

I believe that doom/fatebind are the replacements to the mark line from live, so there is little chance that it would be changed back.

why was mark line replaced? i loved it because it was useful on raids/groups/solo/dueling.

I think this neglected line of spells is long due for an upgrade. Whether it is the one that Wiz proposed or something else, these spells are rarely used.

If wiz implements this, I am going to get yelled at. A LOT

( No really, A lot a lot )

(( B/c Bad healer lol ))

Please implement this!
