A few other good rogues and I have felt the same way; we want it removed. Rogues have 4 tomes, and this is the one that should be axed to bring us back down to 3. I heard this tome 3 dropped in Tur`Ruj in the past week, and that's awful. So here are my suggestions:
(1) Remove all instances of these 4 tomes from all drop tables.
(2) For the rank 3 and 4 Amb.Exp tomes, it would be best if the owner could get a random rank 3 or 4 class tome to replace the Amb.Exp. 3 or 4 tome they have. I'd personally like to see it be one of the placeholder ones which used to not even drop. If not, well, they at least have a use.
(3) For the rank 1 and 2 tomes of Amb.Exp., I'd love just a replacement class tome of equal rank, again preferably one that remains unimplemented. At the very least, being able to get some sale value out of it would help.
(4) For those who have put experience into an Amb.Exp. tome but not completed it, I would like them to receive the same deal as above. As for dealing with the experience put into it, I say it should just be ignored. Any rogue at this level knows there are 4 rogue tomes and that this was the one that needed to get removed from the game. If they got to the point they're doing this tome, they have plenty of tomes done, and this won't really matter that much. However....
(5) For those that actually completed 1 or more Amb.Exp. tomes, I think they should still just lose their effort put into it. In return, I'd like them to be compensated with a random class tome of equal rank to each rank of Amb.Exp. completed. I know this could be controversial, but I still feel this is the best way.
(6) Once completed, all instances of Ambuscade Expertise tomes in banks, inventories, drop tables, and quest rewards, along with exp put into them, can be safely deleted.
Then we can do on to the work of developing the ideas for unimplemented tomes for other classes. Clerics get 1 tome and we get 4? Hopefully not for long.
