Re: Soundbites

Hey Tarrax, Is there any good place with several soundbites lumped together?
I had a few sites in my favorites that I used to use for my tabletop games, but I have long deleted them once I downloaded what I needed. Try Googling them, that's how I found them.

Yeah sounds would be really nice, If you do decide to go ahead with them I live in a rural area and do a lot of sound editing How would you like real live recording of forest at different time set in a series of loops to fit night and day rain etc let me know

Wow... I <3 Your idea!

I like this entire idea, the only issue is that we can't really do much with sounds ingame as far as I know, only replace the sound themes that are MP3s instead of embedded sound files.

Would it be possible to add sounds serverside? I know that numerous NWN PW's (including the one I played) had custom sounds for various areas. I know almost nothing about coding but if you got a bunch of sounds like that would it be possible to have people add them to the sounds folder and then write something that would activate and tie certain sounds to certain things? Such as the script for rain having a rain sound effect tied to it, a storm having a much heavier rain sound but with crashes of thunder added in from time to time? Not sure if it'd be possible, and it'd probably take a lot of time that could be better spent on other areas but I'm rather fond of this idea.

This would be cool with foresty areas, but it would be insanely awesome for dungeons, spooky places, plane of torment, etc. I'm picturing the massively spooky music and sound effects used in, say, Absolution, but applied to mielech. Not exactly that due to IP crap, but you get the idea.

It'd be worth it just to add sound effects to Rivervale and turn the zone chatter into ambience.

I am one who never has a sound playing other than my mp3 player. My Music > EQ noise that is redundant and just loops over and over till I want to puke.

.. just my 2 cents
