Althuna's Recovery - PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU HAD THIS SPELL

Wiz

NOT DONATING *EVER*
Althuna's Recovery was not intentionally removed from all books - this was a glitch in the patch. The spell is gone, yes, but it is being replaced with:

Vessel of Althuna - Self increase all healing by 10% + decrease all aggro by 20% for 1800 ticks for 350 mana.

Everyone who had Althuna's Recovery was supposed to automatically get a placeholder for this spell. If you had Althuna's Recovery scribed before the 2.0 patch (scrolls were not removed), please petition to have it replaced. We will need to check the logs to ensure you had it, but we will do our best to make sure noone loses their spell.

Sorry about this.

Just a comment since someone mentioned that I had said clerics would not get a new spell to replace Althuna's Recovery.

What I said was that clerics would not get a new heal because there's already lots of 61+ heals. This new spell will allow clerics to pull ahead as main healers at level 65, without going back to the CH chains.

Is anything coming down the line to help clerics pull ahead as main healers pre-65, and before they manage to get this spell? Outside of the CH chain, it's these folks most affected by the loss of CH. By the time a cleric obtains this spell, they'll likely have all the healing AAs that made CH obsolete outside of chains anyway.

Having been 65 for somewhere around 8 months, and being the most active cleric in one of the low-mid tier raiding guilds, I've never seen this spell drop, nor seen it for sale. Waiting for this spell for clerics to pull ahead as a main healer is rather depressing.

I'm still evaluating exactly how efficent clerics now are compared to druids and shamans but I would say very possibly yes.

Heal over time spells are definitely getting a big upgrade soon.

Sounds great Wiz! Thanks!

Hots getting a upgrade thats is awsome

I plan to upgrade their efficency to be on average 5% higher than the same level direct heals, and make them affected the same by everything that affects your heals. You get higher efficency and lower aggro in exchange for the HoTs acting slower.

It's a fair tradeoff.

Is Vessel of Althuna going to be as unbelieveably rare as the original scroll? Yesterday, I felt like I was a good cleric, today I only feel like half a cleric because I dont have this spell! Would it be out of the question to make it something other than just an extremely rare random drop, like maybe a quest or a rare drop off a certain mob like Taraztus healing flames? At the current rate of rareness of this spell I could probably loot 10 more relics before I obtain this, it appears to now be an imperative cleric spell when only 2 are allowed on raids. Or you can just listsend me a copy wiz and I will stop complaining <3.

Just a little feedback on Vessel: the 10% boost to heals is nice.
The -aggro is kinda 'meh' - some may disagree, but excepting the 'radical' changes that existed for a few days recently, I don't get aggro healing with my clr unless I do something stupid (it happens =/).
But overall, comparing VoA to AR, I guess they're roughly equal in usefulness, though I do feel for the clerics without it, who seem to have no real big bonus over a druid healing, when you consider the +versatility of a druid.

laffo @ behn getting this 2 days after his post

VoA decreases ALL agro, not just healing agro. All agros include meleeing agro, nuking agro, Stunning agro..... you get the idea. Actually, pre-VoA I had problems DCing warr-cleric, since, every time I Melee'd with Zaira, the warrior would lose agro, after a certain ammount of time... healing agro+lots of procs will do that. Post VoA, a pally 53 can steal my agro, unless I overheal too much, or the pally totally slacks. So... yes, the -agro part is pretty much important, since it doesn't decrease just healing agro... but ANY agro (now, if we get fatebind to stack with all other debuffs.....)
