Alt tabbing disable when running EQ

I just installed EQ on my new computer and alt tabbing is diisable while playing EQ and I have no idea why or how to fix it. I'm running in a window with EQWindows (tried it without EQWindows and it still didn't work). I'm wondering how to fix it as I really need to be able to alt tab.

Its your windows edition. I can't remember what file you have to download buts its off of Microsoft.

Hopefully someone will be able to get you a link...I am looking for it but haven't found it yet.
 
I have stuff running in the background...that's not the problem.

All right, going to try just updating my windows (XP right now...but since it's a fresh install, not sure if it's updated).
 
All right, my system's fully updated...but yeah, I guess I may need that one that isn't automatically updated for you? I dunno, I'm going to see if I can find something about it.
 
Alt-Tab in XP

You need to download the Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit.

After you install it start up the Compatibility Administrator.

On the left side there will be a nice tree. Navigate to System Database\Applications\Everquest.

Selecting "Everquest" will cause the right side to change, and it should show "eqgame.exe" at the top of the right side. Right-click on "eqgame.exe" and select "Disable Entry". Save and exit.

Thanks for the replies. A little late perhaps, not sure, but he got it fixed. Hopefully this will get searched and found if someone else has similar problems. Perhaps move this to tech. help?
