Adventuring Bands- The Bugs

Any comments about the people receiving 800k exp and not coming close to a ping or 211k = half of one yellow, etc?
Are we all crazy? Is this just something we're seeing client side, and the toons are really getting the right amount?

AB's sound great, but I dont want to be giving 800k into the AB band if my buddies end up with a bugged amount way less...
 
I had 2 characters both just under 18 banded 1 offline other exping, I leveled and logged onto the offiline character and it leveled too (both 18 now) I logged the second character off again then proceded to level the first character almost all the way to 21 before stopping with 1 death, I logged back on the second character it said I gained almost 150k exp but the exp bar moved only 1.5 yellows.

So in 3 levels the gap went from 1 blue to like 2.75 levels
 
Hi, It seems that I have encountered something wrong with the adventuring bands.

I have a band set up with My cleric, My Enchanter, and a friend from work, a palladin.

My friend from work is only able to play about 4 times per week or so, while I am able to play on a daily basis.

I logged in my enchanter after being in a different group, and I got enough xp to level me to the next level. Then I got the message saying that I gained another 56,000 xp more, but my bar did not move, hence the xp was lost.

I figure that this will also happen to my friend when she logs in from work, she will only get one level, and then loose the rest. So to use adventuring bands to keep friends level close - approx same level, will not really work out with this bug. Unless characters are logged in on a daily basis, and have to plan when they will log in next to be sure not to loose xp.

I did take a screenshot of the messages as follows...
- Xp gain
- Level gained
- Xp gain again
- Experience bar still showing no more experience into level.

Please let me know if someone needs the screenshot.
 
Oh, there is indeed a bug that is capping the exp you get. I will fix it immediately.
 
Thanks for the quick reply Wiz - Is this something that you can easily fix? Or is this going to take time troubleshooting and what not? I can voulenteer to help with troubleshooting if needed.

Are you able to let us know when it gets fixed? I disbanded my AB already, and will reform when it is fixed...

Is it possible to make xp come in like 10k chunks so if some one is 30k from lvl and they are set up to gain 200k xp that they can gain the 30k lvl and continue gaining xp? From what I have seen so far the gain is 1 big chunk, this kinda sucks when your 3% from lvl and you have xp debt but your still racking up the band xp only to have most of it go to waste when you eat through your debt. The xp mini-chunks would enable people who didn't log in for a few days to keep the xp they gained instead of wasting it. just one rangers oppinion tho
 
I beleive that getting the xp the way we are getting it now is no problem, and as Wiz stated, there was a bug, and he was able to get it fixed - right when he said it would be fixed in 5 minutes - the server went down, so I have faith that it is now fixed.

Wiz, would there be any way to get some of the lost xp back at all?

I know I'm prolly asking for lots... but it don't hurt to ask =)

Also, I had no clue that it would take this long to fix, otherwise I would have kept the band instated for the friend at work I play with. Is this person going to get some of the xp that I got for the band over the weekend, or is it gone due to the fact that I disbanded the band itself?

No matter what you can do or not tho, I really appreciate the quick reply's and quick fixes =)

The problem i have is this, your friend is going to log in eventualy and maybe she has 300k xp comming at her, from you getting 3 lvls and her not logging in, she will get that all at once turning your 3 lvls into 1 lvl for her, kinda negating the point of the band. Bands are meant to keep friends the same lvl, if one person logs in 1/3 as much as you do then at some point you are gona jump ahead a lvl or more bcuz the huge chunks you get will rob xp from you if you gain too much xp for your lvl.

you apparently have not been paying attention to how bands work

i'm posting this cause it seems Adv band Xp is buggy

basically, i reformated my computer and was unable to log onto sod for 2-3 day TOP. there's only 2 person in my band... i reinstalled SoD this morning and loged on to find this:

i dunno what happened when i wasn't around, im not sure if my friend really made that much xp =/... all i know is that i wasn't awarded that much xp (not posting because i want all that xp cause im sure thats not what im suposed to have).... i'm just wondering why it say u gain all that but doesn't give the right ammount (since you said it was fixed).

not 100% accurate.. give or take 1-2 hour...

january 29, 2007, between 8-9am (Est time).... like 10min b4 the previous post.

if it help, my ingame char name is Luminaire (log wise or w/e).

side note: when i was away, other member of the band got 3-4aa, where as i got barelly 1 or 1.

OK, this was a remnant from the earlier bugs, and the game blocked most of your EXP because of the unreasonable number.
 
posting again cause it seem wrong again somehow...

we are 2 in band... second member isn't online, i go xp and make 3 aa so other person is suposed to log on with 3 aa more... but he log on with only 1 aa and 1-2 yellow... wich is wrong considering how the band xp is suposed (we lose half of the xp we would normally get to give to other person)... we disbanded the band atm since we seems to lose more aa's (in the band), then we do alone
 
I'm not seeing the 1% experience bonus for being in a band. Is this even implemented yet?
 
I'm not sure if this can be done but, I remember when /join <channel> was in the game and you could use it for raid/auctioning/etc I was wondering if the chat could be placed in that sort of channel like /join AB(1-100) or something like that. I know it has been taking out of the game a long time ago, but myself and my friends used to use it all the time for our own separate channel. So I was just wondering if it could be used for this purpose.
