Adept Raid - Redmaw

Filmed and uploaded by me! Here's a .avi of us kicking the crap out of Redmaw. We failed 2 times and finally killed the jerk on the third. We then went off to kill Tarx. But I wasn't there to film it because someone said he wasn't KoS. Hah, too bad he was. :( That was a quick battle. No screenshots sorry.

Enjoy. =D :toot:

If you guys don't like the quality I can redub it and up the quality.

We had two full groups, I'm not so sure about the classes, but there was a bit of each.

Sorry about the models =D I don't like the old old ones. =P

As you can see, there is a dorf not attacking behind the mob. I suppose it's a bug. Although we were 12, Mafate could not attack. I wonder if the limit isn't 11, or if there is a melee limiting number, since we were pretty heavy on melee.
I dunno if I should bug report it.
Otherwise, yes, Luclin models are the evil!

You can only have 3 of any particular class. if you had 4 then the last one who attempts to engage simply won't be allowed too. He could have been the 4th whatever class he was.

That was probably the issue. I seems unfair though, but I do see the reason why Wiz made a class limit per raid. Still sometimes it's inconvenient, there are times when we cant find enough variety to prevent going over the limit of 3 per class. :psyduck:

Anyway we did succeed in killing Redmaw, next time I raid and record the battle, I'll add background music.

Either had one too many of x class for him not to be able to attack, or he had a buff from a higher level character. You cannot engage an adept when you have a buff from a higher level character. I'm not too sure on the rules, but I know for certain you cannot buff your adept raid with an enc 65, for example. Even if you received level appropriate buffs, it still will not work(that part is what I'm not 100% sure on, but I am 99% sure that is the case.)

4 things to engage an adept: Appropriate lvl, 3 or less of a class, 12 or less on the adept, and buffs only from players that are the appropriate lvl.

One of these things could have been off, my guess is that there was already 3 warriors engaging. I can name 3 warriors that were at that raid off the top of my head - uake, beno, grandan, and im quite certain there was another warrior that came with grandan/bungo aswell. Dont remember his name but he boxed a shaman.

FYI:

Luclin models were the best thing to ever happen to that game.

Don't bow down to the blockheaded old school graphics. They're for suckers and Celerons...

Sorry Luficer, I wouldn't have replied in such a rude way on Youtube, I thought it was you who posted but I wasn't so sure, and I was too lazy to even check.

You'd be hard pressed to name a game that has shittier looking animations than those features in Shadows of Luclin.

In fact, for a AAA game, I'd say it's damn near impossible.

I hate Luclin models because they made dorfs look awful and suppressed the dorf roll.
Animations and postures are also horrible. For example, with the feet placement, it looks like all the chars have a broom up the a..!

Now you are totaly entitled to use it. It's your screen after all ;).

Models doesn't equal animation.

I think all the models look better with Luclin graphics. The only one that disappointed me was the half elves. It was pretty lame that they crapped out and used the wood elf model for them with different textures. Half elf should have had their own model somewhere between wood elf and human in size.

They're also not equal in a way that the animations far outweigh model resolution when it comes to believability.

Well the Luclin Models allow for far more customization with the face, and they are of high resolution. In my opinion the races look more mature is a sense. The old models make trolls and ogres look like mutant marshmallow people.

Yeah, but they make dorfs with way too long legs, and the same with trolls and ogres.
Maybe they should not be marshmallow people, but long legs for those races seems completely wrong. And the sole purpose of those graphics was to allow them to not look stupid on mounts... At the expense of making them look stupid on the ground. So the ogres and trolls couldnt be too large cause it would have looked like a barrel on a horse. Now ogres, troll and dwarves only look like enlarged/reduced humans with a small particularity ( mostly on the face).
They are earthen creatures. They should look massive, strong, stable...
Anyways, even with marshmallow graphics, they are closer to the idea I have from them. Even though all the "humanish" models are a bit better ( and female dark elves look much much better in plate!), it doesn't weight up for the loss of coherency.
