Acquiring All Port Necks (Especially that Pesky Grobb)

Aaubert

Dalayan Beginner
I'm working on my collection of clickie-port items, and the only one i know of that I'm missing is my Grobb neck.

I currently have:

DHK/Stormkeep Neck (be ally to Dragons/Giants, faction gained by turning in scales/heads)
North Badlands Book (drops in DHK)
Athica Neck (be ally to Athica Town, faction gained by turning in Elthannar Service Medallions)
Newport Neck (be ally to Newport Town, faction gained by a bunch of questions for newport tokens)
Rivervale Neck (do a quest at night in Rivervale)
Yinazra Neck (drops off of Yinazra)

Missing:

Grobb Neck (be ally to ???? (what's the faction named?), faction gained by ????)
Anything Else I'm missing?

(theres also the sultan hat which is clicky-gate, melee only)

I have all the pieces for my Grobb neck, but wasn't able to turn it in when i was only Aimiable to the turn-in chick in Grobb. I'm currently close to scowling from blackscale... so i need to figure out how to improve that without screwing up any other factions... Any Suggestions?

I was able to turn in at awful faction with grobb to get my neck. Perhaps this has changed since I did it several months ago, but I thought all you needed was enough faction to get them to talk to you.

Amulet of Blackscale Service Quest
From SoDWiki

Quest starts in: Grobb

Quest reward: http://www.angrygamer.net/sodwiki/index.php?title=Amulet_of_Blackscale_Service

You say, 'Hail, Coordinator Malika'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Welcome to the halls of the Blackscale, Jamethiel. I am Malika, and serve as the Coordinator, a position created to ensure that Grobb is allowed to progress free from the softening influence of the lesser races. To this task, we hire mercenaries and bounty hunters to carry out the will of the Order and in extension, the people of Grobb themselves. Are you [seeking employment]?'

You say, 'I am seeking employment'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Very good. We are always in need of trackers to find those who betray the cause of the Order, or would seek to ally themselves with the weak creatures that make up the lesser races. There is currently five bounties to collect, of varying degrees of difficulcy. These bounties are for the heads of [Talmin], [Ulger], [Silyvta], [Hasmila], and [Gorun]. Returning any of these heads will yield you a Bounty token, which can be exchanged for money with Sithika of the Blades. (Warrior Guild master - got 15pp for the 1st bounty) Futhermore, if you successfully collect four bounties, I will gift you an additional reward for your services - Merely speak to me after you fulfilled the contracts. There is no need to hold onto the bounties for this, I will keep track of which bounties you have completed You say, 'talmin'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Talmin is a trader affiliated with the weak Silver Crown and located in the city of Oggok. This gathering of nearly all races seek to unite, gather in weakness, all in the name of exchanging goods. He has been intrusive, not confident to merely trade with the people of Oggok, but making multiple inquiries and attempts to access our city. We demand his termination. He is certainly a weak advesary, but be careful to avoid the attentions of the Oggok Watch. This will earn you a First-Rank Bounty.'

You say, 'ulger'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Ulger is the lord of the Darksun Orcs, a stupid but powerful creature that has been very fervert in its attempts to keep the deserts clear of all foes. Such a neighbour is an annoying matter, and ridding Dalaya of his presence would surely weaken the Darksun. This will earn you a First-Rank Bounty.'

You say, 'silyvta'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Silyvta is a traitor to the Order. Once a respected Necromancer of the Order, she resigned her powers and abandoned her post, seeking peaceful refuge. None such shall be granted. She lives in a small house on the shores of Lake Starfall. Without her powers she should be an easy match, but I am told a friend, a strong warrior, guards over her. Wait for the right moment to attack, and you should be able to take care of her alone. This will earn you a Second-Rank Bounty.'

You say, 'Hasmila'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Hasmila is a spy who sought to infilitrate Grobb under a magical disguise. She was discovered by one of the Order, who managed to wound her before she made her flight. We lost her track, but she is likely hiding somewhere not too far, perhaps in the desolate Plaguelands, and likely under disguise once more. End her miserable existance. This will earn you a Third-Rank Bounty.' edit- shes been moved to a tent outside w freeport

You say, 'Gorun'

Coordinator Malika says, 'Gorun is a despicable betrayer. He served as Captain of the Wardens until, not long ago, it was uncovered by our informators that he was taking payments from human spies in exchange for information. He fled before he could be brought in, and now seeks refuge in Newport, the city of the Humans. Bring him to face Order justice. This will earn you a Fourth-Rank Bounty.'

You have a choice to kill either Desert Lord Ulger or Trader Talmin for the first bounty. I suggest killing Ulger because it only gives lowers Sun Tribe orc faction. Killing Talmin in Oggok will lower The Black Hand and Silver Crown Trading Company factions. Ulger can be found in Oasis in the 3 southwest 3 spawn camp. He is about level 25.

Turning either head into Malika will get you faction and the First Bounty:

Coordinator Malika says, 'I see the Orc Lord proved no match for a skilled one such as you. Well done.' You recieve First Bounty from Coordinator Malika. Your faction standing with Grobb Wardens has gotten better! Your faction standing with Denizens of Grobb has gotten better! Your faction standing with Order of the Blackscale has gotten better!

Coordinator Malika says, 'Ahh... well done. This little Silver Crown fool will bother us no longer.' Your faction standing with Grobb Wardens has gotten better! Your faction standing with Denizens of Grobb has gotten better! Your faction standing with Order of the Blackscale has gotten better!

Next find Silyvta in Lake Starfall. She lives on a ledge in the NE part of the lake. Inside the log cabin @ +3624 +147, Her guard will wander off on his own if you are patient. You can kill her with no faction loss. Turn her head in for the second bounty.

Coordinator Malika says, 'The head of the traitor Silyvta this is. I wonder if she regretted her decision as she was dying. What do you think, Jamethiel?' You recieve Second Bounty from Coordinator Malika. Your faction standing with Grobb Wardens has gotten better! Your faction standing with Denizens of Grobb has gotten better! Your faction standing with Order of the Blackscale has gotten better!

Hasmila has been moved to somewhere around the Freeport area. She is now West Freeport hanging around by a tent, ID'd as 'a wounded bandit'. Loc is POS 407.37, POS 453.35. She seems to be pure melee, green to lvl 45. No faction hits for the kill.

Turn her head in for the third bounty Coordinator Malika says, 'Ah, it looks like our wayward spy tripped over your blade, Jamethiel. What a shame.' You recieve Third Bounty from Coordinator Malika. Your faction standing with Grobb Wardens has gotten better! Your faction standing with Denizens of Grobb has gotten better! Your faction standing with Order of the Blackscale has gotten better!

Gorun is in the Lions Mane Inn in South Newport in a room on the first floor not too far behind the check in counter. He has 2 guards with him who will assist. Again, some pretty good sized faction hits for killing Gorun. Your faction standing with Hall of Fighters has gotten worse! Your faction standing with Arcane Academy has gotten worse! Your faction standing with Newport Guards has gotten worse!

Take Gorun's head back for the fourth bounty. (missing completion text) Your faction standing with Grobb Wardens has gotten better! Your faction standing with Denizens of Grobb has gotten better! Your faction standing with Order of the Blackscale has gotten better!

Turn all 4 bounties together in to Malika to receive your new necklace. (missing completion text again, bah)

Reward: Amulet of Blackscale Service

This is the port necklace to Grobb. It drops you off at the entrance of Grobb right near the zone.

The "turn-in chick" in Grobb is on Blackscale faction. I did the quest when I was dubious, so as long as you're not KOS to Blackscale you can get it. You'd just need to be invis to get to where she is if you're KOS to Grobb. The amulet isn't faction-bound, so you can't lose it. If you're KOS to Blackscale, I don't know of any way to get it.

Sidenote: I think Wiz said that you now need to hail her to get the neck handed, not sure if I remember right or not. Might be worth a try if you haven't done it already.

I was able to do it with my iksar monk with np, but with my dwarf cleric need to ilusion him into Troll/ogre (i dont remember which one exactly) to be able to enter and speak with Coordinator Malika, after that ilusion u became unkos and u can do the quest as another iksar.

I tried to do it all as an enchanter, shapeshifting into trolls, iksar, ogres, everything, never was able to get it.

Do you need to be 65 to get it?

Because when I was trying, I wasn't 65.

And, does anyone know of any quests/stuff that can be killed to get you OUT of KOS with grobb?

you can get neck at lvl 1.. if you can get the items you can get the neck..
maybe you can do blackscale warrior quests in heartlands, for mq,.. havn't myself yet but i imagine that would raise your faction..

I'm kindly to the grobb faction, but i'm threatening to blackscale.

Does the charm-quest-giver thing work on SoD the way it did on live? I especially remember this with the Overthere Worker Mallet, (crappy ratio, proc: Port to Overthere). But you could nab some puppet strings from PoH and charm him then do the turn in, and you could then do faction turn ins. (or just flat out charm him if you had the spell, but chances are, you weren't trying to get an OT hammer if you could cast charm)....

So, could i charm coordinator Malika, then hand her the 4 pages?

ok, i understand that'd be considered a no-no...

Wiz, is there a way to get out of KoS? If not, is there any chance of implementing a way, a la Newport Crops and stuff?

I had a groupmate kill some blackscale while we were doing a tmap in OSM, and I didn't realize I was getting a faction hit until it was too late =(.

Blackscale is part of the MQ, so apart from joining them, they probably won't like you. Grobb is an isolationist society and I don't think they would welcome you back into the fold.

was that anything like an answer to the question?

I was non-KOS to them when went with council of innovation, and have been non-KOS untill i accidentally buffed a groupmate while he was killing them in OSM. They liked me plenty, even when i didn't join them.

You can't raise faction with those three factions apart from joining them, so yeah I think it was an adequate answer.

you see, you last post WAS an answer, the first one, nsomuch. but thanks for the answer.

oh, anyways, you're wrong. you gain faction with them through quite a few newbie quests in grobb, which i found out from some level 20.
