Account Recovery

Hi guys, apologies if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure if it should be put here or technical.

So I've played SoD on and off for years, most recently about 2 years ago I believe, but for some reason I have all my account names (they work in the forums) but when I try to recover my passwords (new pc so they haven't been saved, my bad) it says that the email address/account name cannot be linked (even though I'm logged into the forum with said username/email).

Makes me wonder if there was an account clear or something to that effect over the past couple of years?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks guys

There has not been any account or character deletions ever in SoD history! If you remember character names you should fomelo them - they should still exist.

There are two things that could be happening. First, you could have used a different email to register the account way back when. The forum login is separate from the game login. Put in all the emails you have used and see if it pops up.

Second, a long long long time ago, we did not require email to sign up for an account. This means that there are a few thousand accounts in the database with no email linking them at all. If this is the case, you have to contact staff directly (IRC is the quickest way normally), and give us enough information to prove that you owned the accounts. 98% of the time, we can smack your new email on the account and you can reset the password from there.
