About the Wiki

This is probably extremely premature and potentially useless, I know, but I decided not to give up on learning CSS after all. It's pretty fun.

I've been working on a demo wiki to try out different things as far as layout/color schemes/nifty stuff and I thought I'd share my progress.

*shrugs* I like it. If I get enough of a reaction to balance out the enormous effort required to carry over all the data, I might get serious about it and make it workable. Put in the necessary framework and such.

Slightly different syntax on the wiki-language so converting content is going to require extensive editing

This is a showstopper IMO. It'd be a HUGE effort to convert the existing, and everyone would have to learn a new syntax.

Yea, right now the entire Wikidot server is down. I can't get to any of their sites. It's normally almost instant loading for me.

Oh man german servers - yay them.

Anyways, great to see someone actually put work into cleaning the entire Wiki up. Thank you :)

Back up finally. Approx. downtime 12 hours. Apparently their routing company in Germany dropped the ball.
It's fine now though. Back to work slaves!

I and a few others now have mod powers on the angrygamer wiki. It is actively being repaired, slowly but surely.

is it or can it be changed to where you have to have an account to edit?

We are working on this with the Wikiop, he has to do it server side but the information has been sent to him.

Hello. Sorry about the undoubtedly immense amount of frustration caused by all of this. As Tempus said, anonymous editing has been disabled (thanks to everyone who sent me info on how to do it), and he has been given bureaucrat status so he can make more people sysops and such. If ANYONE needs to get a hold of me, the email address to do it is [email protected], the [email protected] email address is no good as any legit email I get is drowned by spam. And thanks again to Tempus and everyone else who will be taking an active role in maintaining the articles on the site.

So this means to spam the Wiki they will have to create an account and SpamBots wont be able to do it en'mass any more? Super sweet! I was getting tired of going through countless recent changes to correct the spam! :)
Yay of spam blocking!

Quick update for those concerned:

The wiki is much more securenow, and no longer allows anonymous editing!

Lots of the spam has already been removed, and the rest is soon to follow.

It is becoming a safe place to take your children once again =)
